SPORTPESA POST MEGAJACKPOT ANALYSIS – THE BREAKDOWN

We are back at it again with our Sportpesa Mega Jackpot post-match analysis. Brace yourselves as last week’s sportpesa mega jackpot games had it all, from tumbling records to stunning comebacks. With this in mind, lets dive right into it, shall we?

Swindon v Accrington

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 2X

Result: 3-0

Champions Accrington Stanley were pummeled 3-0 by Swindon on their final-day forcing them to jump into League One football next season without much aplomb.

The home team goals from Marc Richards, Keshi Anderson and Paul Mullin meant that they wrapped up their campaign on a high to boost Phil Brown’s aspirations of keeping the manager’s job full-time.

Marc pulled Swindon Town ahead in the 14th minute when he tucked in a Kyle Knoyle cross from close range. Anderson made it 2-0 in the 43rd minute in what can only be described as an exceptional goal. The January transfer window signing from Crystal Palace was involved in a neat one-two with James Dunne and the English winger then steadied himself before slotting the perfectly weighted return ball high into the back of the net.

Paul then put the match beyond reach for the champions when he made it 3-0 10 minutes into the second half with a low, drilled effort. Notably though, both teams ended the game with 10 men after Swindon’s Dunne and his rival namesake Jimmy Dunne were sent off following an altercation a scuffle.

Based on the history between the two, we had gone for a draw as our 1st pick and double chance giving the champions a win or draw in our 2nd pick. None proved accurate as the home side found another gear.

Nottingham County v Luton Town

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 0-0

Notts County and 10-man Luton had to be content with a point a piece on the final day of the season after fighting out an entertaining goalless draw. Goalless draws are usually drab affairs but this was nothing close to that as goal scoring opportunities and slick build up were in plenty.

With more than 4,000 vociferous fans backing them, the promoted Hatters looked lively early on with Olly Lee forcing Collin into a great save with a powerful pile-driver.

The hosts, already guaranteed of a play-off place, had their moments with Jon Stead having a shot deflected behind for a corner while James Shea also saved from Jorge Grant.

The Magpies’ hopes of a victory were boosted early in the second half when Danny Hylton picked up a second yellow card for a foul on Shaun Brisley.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, the Hatters kept trying to find a breakthrough with Stacey coming close following a rapid counter attack. And only a fantastic last-ditch tackle from Matt Tootle denied Ruddock-Mpanzu from making the breakthrough at the expense of a corner.

The draw meant Kevin Nolan’s side finished fifth and they will face Coventry in the play-off semi-finals.

Based on head to head records and current form, we had a host win as our 1st pick. However, with the hosts guaranteed a play-off spot, we had a draw as our 2nd pick and it proved accurate.

Watford v Newcastle

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 2-1

In what was one of the shock result of the weekend, the Benitez’s men slipped to a third successive defeat at Watford, who ensured their Premier League survival thanks to first-half goals from Roberto Pereyra and Andre Gray.

Pereyra ended his side’s run of three matches without a goal after just two minutes when he slotted home Abdoulaye Doucoure’s neat reverse pass.

Star-player, Ayoze Perez did pull a goal back in the 55th minute but, despite all their second-half dominance, Newcastle could not find the equaliser. Notably, the score line could have been more damaging as Captain Troy Deeney had a golden chance to make it 3from the spot, but Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka was equal to both Deeney’s penalty kick and the resulting rebound after Paul Dummett had brought down Gray in the box.

The Newcastle’s players looked as if they were already on holiday in the first half of Saturday’s defeat at Watford, sentiments which were echoed by their manager in his post-match interview.

With both teams relatively safe and with nothing realistic to chase, we went for a stalemate as our 1st pick. Based on home advantage, we gave hornets a straight win in our second pick and it proved accurate.

Crewe v Cheltenham

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 1X

Result: 2-1

On-loan striker Miller was the star of the show as for the hosts. Crewe, who fielded a starting 11 comprised entirely of players who have come through their youth system, finished their season as 2-1 winners against Cheltenham.

Miller, in his second stint back at his first club, put the hosts ahead with a clinical 17th-minute strike. In what was a thrilling encounter, the visitors equalized George Lloyd, only for 30-year-old Miller to grab his 2nd and seal the points the points after 62 minutes.

Fun fact: Crewe’s feat of fielding an all-Academy-produced 11 wasn’t new to them as they had done the same, on the final day of the 2012-13 League One season when they ended up with a 2-0-win against Walsall.

Based on head to head records, we had gone for a home win as our 1st pick and it proved to be the winning pick.

Forest Green v Grimsby

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 0-3

JJ Hooper’s second-half hat-trick handed Grimsby a comfortable victory at Forest Green on the final day of the League Two season.

Hooper broke the deadlock on 51 minutes when he stretched to touch the ball over the line.

He grabbed his second on 83 minutes with a sumptuous angled strike and six minutes later completed his treble with a powerful finish from 25 yards.

Grimsby, who have gone unbeaten in their final five games of the season, finish the season in 18th place while Forest Green have ended up 21st in the table.

Forest Green created the better first-half chances but found Grimsby keeper James McKeown in fine form as he denied 25-goal striker Christian Doidge, a Scott Laird free-kick and a Charlie Cooper header.

Based on historical records, we went for an away win as our first pick and it proved true.

Kortrijk v Zulte Waregem

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 1-2

It was the visitors who drew 1st blood in this thrilling encounter at the Guldensporenstadion. Theo Bongonda was the hero when his long distance shot in the 15th minute making it his 4th goal this season. Idir Ouali pulled the hosts level almost immediately with a sublime left-footed shot in and around the 21st minute.

Peter Olayinka then scored what turned to be the match winner for the hosts when his when his rifled left-footed shot found the back of the net in the 34th minute.

We had gone for a home win and a double win chance as our 1st and 2nd picks based on   head to head records and the second pick was the winning one.

Everton v Southampton

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 1-1

The Saints moved out of the bottom three and above the Welsh club despite a 96th-minute Tom Davies goal that denied them victory at Everton.

Nathan Redmond’s second-half goal gave them the lead at Goodison and saw them move up a place on goal difference. Winger Redmond nodded Cedric Soares’ cross past Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in an otherwise subdued contest which saw Southampton’s Maya Yoshida sent off for two fouls.

Everton, who stay eighth in the table, were booed at the final whistle of their final home game of the season, and the result means they can no longer overhaul seventh-placed Burnley who have qualified for the Europa League.

However, the toffees almost made their numerical advantage as it took a vital save by Alex McCarthy to turn away Leighton Baines’ goal-bound free-kick before Davies’ strike deflected in off Wesley Hoedt in added time.

With the Saints battling against relegation, we had picked an away win 1st while we had a home win as our 2nd. None proved true as Baines shot was expertly saved in the dying minutes to deny the hosts maximum points.

https://highlightsfootball.com/video/everton-vs-southampton-highlights/

Villareal v Valencia

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 1-0

The hosts created a high number of chances relative to their possession in what was a rather cagey affair between arch-rivals.

With the visitors who seem to have hit a slump in following their mid-season stellar results, the hosts made them pay for their profligacy when Mario Perez found the back of the net in the 86th minute to send the home crowd into ecstasy as it ensured that they had the bragging rights.

Going by current form, we picked out a home win as our 1st pick and this turned out to be the winning prediction.

Malaga v Alaves

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 2

Result: 0-3

This was as one sided a match as they with the visitors proving much too dominant on the day.

Goals from Manu García after only 3 minutes, Ermedin Demirovic in the 68th minute and Ibai Gómez two minutes later ensured that Alaves walked away with maximum points much to the delight of their manager.

Chances came far and in between for the hosts as they could only muster a measly 3 shots on target compared to Alaves’ 7.

We had gone for an away win as both our picks based on current form and head to head records and this proved true.

Sheffield Wednesday v Norwich City

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 5-1

Sheffield Wednesday earned their best win of the season as Atdhe Nuhiu’s hat-trick helped to hammer Norwich City.

Kosovan Nuhiu opened the scoring on 14 minutes with a far-post header before Fernando Forestieri doubled their lead.

In two second-half minutes, Frederico Venancio scored before Nuhiu rolled his second into an empty net after keeper Angus Gunn spilled in a collision.

Norwich got one back with Timm Klose’s left-foot finish, but Nuhiu had the last word from the penalty spot.

Canaries head coach Daniel Farke was forced into an 11th-minute change when key 14-goal playmaker James Maddison, who was deservedly named in the PFA Championship team of the season, went off after receiving lengthy treatment.

We had gone for a home win based on head to head records and it proved true.

Bristol City v Sheffield Utd

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 2-3

Sheffield United held off a second-half fightback from Bristol City to end their Championship season with a win.

The Blades raced into a three-goal lead thanks to strikes from Leon Clarke, Billy Sharp and Kieron Freeman.

Aden Flint headed in Josh Brownhill’s corner to give the hosts a lifeline and Joe Bryan’s curled home a fine free-kick to make it 3-2.

Lee Johnson’s side pushed on for a late leveler but the Blades held out to finish 10th in the table.

Both teams had still been in contention for a play-off place until last week but went into Sunday’s game with only pride at stake.

Chris Wilder’s side stunned the hosts with three goals in the opening 34 minutes, with Freeman’s volley the pick of the bunch.

We had gone for an away win as our 1st pick based on current form and it proved to be an accurate prediction.

Leeds United v QPR

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 2-0

Leeds United finished their Championship season with a routine victory against QPR at Elland Road.

Roofe put Leeds in front with a close-range overhead kick after the R’s failed to clear a corner.

Phillips doubled the advantage shortly after half-time with a left-footed shot from just outside the box.

QPR offered little threat throughout and could have conceded again were it not for some exemplary goal keeping.

The victory was Leeds’ fourth in 16 games under manager Paul Heckingbottom, leaving them 13th in the table, having finished seventh in the 2016-17 season.

Ian Holloway’s QPR ended the season 16th, comfortably clear of relegation but six points away from a top-half finish.

Based on head to head records, we had picked Leeds to win this one and they didn’t disappoint.

Millwall v Aston Villa

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 2

Result: 1-0

Millwall beat play-off bound Aston Villa but had to settle for eighth in the Championship table.

Shaun Williams gave the Lions the lead when he scored from the penalty spot after Henri Lansbury was adjudged to have fouled Jed Wallace in the area.

Villa, who will now face Middlesbrough in the play-offs, made changes for the trip to The Den and unsurprisingly lacked cohesion.

Visiting keeper Mark Bunn denied Lee Gregory a second from the spot late on. James Chester was penalized for handball in the area but Gregory saw his first effort saved by Bunn, making his first league appearance of the season, before the keeper then denied him again on the rebound.

Based on current form, we had a draw as our 1st pick with an away win as our second but none proved true as Villa produced what was arguably their worst performance of the season with one eye on their play-off match.

FC Copenhagen v Brondby IF

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 1-1

This was one of those easily forgettable matches as neither team really found a way to second gear after what was truly a promising start.

Kamil Wilczek drew first blood for the visitors after only 2 minutes but somehow couldn’t maintain their fiery start to find a second goal that would have potentially killed of the game as a contest.

Their leniency and labored tempo gave the hosts a chance back into the game and they duly obliged when Pieros Sotiriou found the equalizer just before half-time.

A draw seems a fair result given the general run of play despite the fiery start. We had gone for an away win and a double win chance as our 1st and 2nd picks respectively based on head to head records but none proved true.

Metz v Angers

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 1-2

Angers looked like their composure on finishes was going to let them down. Metz’ first half goal separated the teams for the majority of the game but, despite Angers missing big chances. An insane injury-time with two goals saw Angers make up for their mistakes and take the win.

Florent Mollet drew first blood in and around the 20th minute and it seemed as if the hosts had secured maximum points only for some late drama that turned the game on its head.

Mateo Pavlovic pulled the visitors level in the 92nd minute and Flavien Tait broke 13,295 home fans hearts when he sealed the dramatic comeback with a 94th minute goal.

We had gone for a home win as both our picks based on head to head records but this was unceremoniously nullified by the 2 injury time goals.

Chelsea v Liverpool

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 1-0

Chelsea were firmly in the fight for a champions League spot for next season after Olivier Giroud secured a 1-0 win against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. However their draw in midweek means the champions league spot is beyond them now.

The striker netted his fifth goal in all competitions in the 32nd minute to deny Liverpool the chance to virtually assure themselves of a place in the top four.

However, should the Reds beat Brighton on the final day of the season then, despite Chelsea’s results in their final two games of the season, Liverpool will be playing Champions League football over the Blues next term.

Conte had predicted that Liverpool could be tired after travelling to Rome in midweek, where the Reds dumped Roma out of the Champions League with a 7-6 aggregate score-line in their semi-final tie.

And, indeed, it seemed as though some of the Liverpool players were struggling with fatigue, although the visitors still created the better of the early chances in west London.

Chelsea continued to create, with the returning Marcos Alonso volleying wide late on, but there were to be no more goals as the Blues kept alive their hopes of finishing in the top four while Liverpool must beat already-safe Brighton next Sunday to play in Europe’s elite competition next term.

We had gone for a Chelsea win as both our picks based on the fact that Liverpool players would be fatigued and it proved true.

Sassuolo v Sampdoria

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 1-0

Matteo Politano’s left footed shot from a difficult angle on the left to the bottom left corner after laudable build up work by Alfred Duncan proved to be the only goal in a rather lacklustre affair.

Sampdoria didn’t muster a single shot on target compared to 7 by the hosts. The hosts were resolute in defence and made the keeper work whenever they found themselves in the danger area.

The win over Sampdoria meant that Sassuolo are now safe from relegation in what has been a roller-coaster season in the Italian league.

We had gone for a draw as our 1st picked as the hosts needed to ensure safety with a home win as our 2nd pick which proved true.

SPORTPESA MEGAJACKPOT ANALYSIS – THE BREAKDOWN.

Watford v Crystal Palace

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 0-0

Ivorian star player, Zaha was cautioned by referee Chris Kavanagh after going down inside the Watford penalty area following a challenge by Adrian Mariappa in what was deemed a blatant dive. It was his fourth booking for simulation in the Premier League since the start of the 2015-16 season.

His manager felt hard done by the decision when he spoke, “I think he would have got the penalty in another game,” said Hodgson.

In what was a topsy-turvy match that had all time high of eight yellow cards, the visitors edged six points clear of the relegation zone after frustrating Watford to a barren draw.

The visitors could have walked away with maximum points but lady luck wasn’t on their side as they were twice denied by the woodwork after half-time, captain Luka Milivojevic hitting the bar from a free-kick before James Tomkins headed against a post.

The result meant that the Eagles climbed one place to 15th in the table while Watford remain 12th, nine points clear of relegation with three games to go, although they have played more games than most teams below them.

We had gone for an away win as our 1st pick based on the fact that the eagles are in a relegation scrap. This would explain our second pick of a draw as we felt the visitors would scrap for a point and this proved to be the case.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”click here for this week mjp” ]

Bristol City v Hull City

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 5-5

This is without a doubt our undisputed pick for match of the weekend. It was simply a sensational game of football on Saturday afternoon as Bristol City incredibly drew 5-5 with Hull.

Bobby Reid, Marlon Pack, Joe Bryan and Famara Diedhiou – who scored twice – all hit the back of the net in a truly nail-biting encounter

The game sparked to life when the Tigers hit back through Fraizer Campbell, Harry Wilson (twice), Fikayo Tomori and Abel Hernandez as seven goals were smashed in during an absorbing end-to-end second half that can’t be really captured in words.

Strikes by Wilson, Abel Hernandez and Fraizer Campbell in the ludicrous 15 minutes saw Hull lead, only for Bryan to level.

However, despite the climax of the late drama during 10 minutes of added time at Ashton Gate, the Robins are now 10th in the table, three points adrift of Millwall in sixth with just two games remaining before the curtains close.

Hull are now certain of Championship survival, having lost just three times in 12 games.

We had gone for a home win as our 1st pick based on head to records but had a draw as our second pick as we felt both teams were at par at it proved be a pulsating draw to say the least.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”Click here for this week MJP” ]

Leeds Utd v Barnsley

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 2

Result: 2-1

The visitor’s slim hopes of avoiding relegation took a major blow with a narrow defeat by former head coach Paul Heckingbottom’s Leeds United at Elland Road.

Tom Pearce put the hosts ahead with his first senior goal, firing ferociously into the bottom right corner from 25 yards out. However, Barnsley rallied and pulled level before the break, via a Paudie O’Connor deflection into his own net.

The hosts refused to settle and Ezgjan Alioski’s tapped in to restore their lead, and Barnsley could not turn their late pressure into a second goal.

Notably though, Oli McBurnie had a goal disallowed for offside and Kieffer Moore somehow directed Adam Hammill’s cross wide of an open goal when it was easier to score as opposed to missing.

Young Leeds keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell gave another assured performance in goal, and Pearce and O’Connor, both 20, also impressed once again in defence, giving their boss some positives to take into next season after what can only be termed as a difficult start to life at Elland Road.

The result meant that Barnsley slipped ever closer to a return to League One after falling to a sixth defeat in 12 games under Heckingbottom’s replacement, Jose Morais.

We had a draw as our 1st pick based on the fact that the visitors were in dire need of points with an away win as our 2nd pick but both proved inaccurate.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”Click here for this week MJP” ]

Birmingham v Sheffield Utd

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 2-1

Birmingham City took a huge step towards Championship survival as victory over Sheffield United lifted them five points clear of the relegation zone.

Mark Duffy had put the Blades ahead by beating home keeper David Stockdale at his near post.

However, Marc Roberts pulled the Blues level before the interval, hammering in Jacques Maghoma’s corner from close range. Maghoma then switched from provider to scorer when he slid home the winner from just 15 yards to leave Sheffield United three points off a play-off place.

Although the Blades poured forward after Maghoma had slotted home from Che Adams’ pass, Birmingham held on for the win with relative ease.

We had gone for a home win as our 1st pick based on head to head records and this proved true.

Gillingham v Blackpool

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 2

Result: 0-3

Highly rated youngster Kyle Vassell, set Blackpool on their way to a fourth consecutive League One win in a dominant display against League one strugglers, Gillingham.

The youngster was in fine form and had hit the bar earlier on. His industrious display was duly rewarded when he fired home the opener after debutant goalkeeper Tom Hadler spilled Jimmy Ryan’s 25-yard shot.

The budding youngster then turned provider when his drilled cross was met by the onrushing Nathan Delfouneso, who guided the ball past the hapless Hadler.

Midfielder Jay Spearing missed the chance to add to the Seasiders’ lead three minutes after the break, as he hit the post from the penalty spot after Tom Eaves was deemed to have fouled Curtis Tilt in the penalty area.

Kelvin Mellor came of the bench and tapped in Armand Gnanduillet’s cross to seal the win for Gary Bowyer’s side seven minutes from time.

The hosts did come close when Josh Parker fired over the bar from 25 yards shortly after the break for Gillingham but they were simply outplayed. They now have the unenviable record of having over six-and-a-half hours without scoring at home.

We had gone for a draw as our 1st pick as we felt the home side would finally break their home form hoodoo. We however gave the visitors and outside chance with an away win as our second pick and this proved to be the correct prediction.

Derby County v Middlesbrough

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 1-2

This was a scintillating encounter and the Rams started brightly but somehow trailed at the break to Muhamed Besic’s goal.

Britt Assombalonga slotted in a second for the visitors after some lovely build up play by the enterprising Adama Traore.

David Nugent’s late penalty gave the hosts the feintest of hopes of an equaliser, but Derby just couldn’t avoid a third successive defeat.

Derby maintained a threat, mainly through the excellent Lawrence, the Wales winger sending one effort just wide and teeing up a chance for Nugent who was off target with a strike when he had better options in the box.

As it stands, Middlesbrough now just need four points from their remaining two games to be completely sure of a Championship play-off place after a professional win over fellow top-six chasers Derby County.

We had gone for a draw as our 1st pick based on the current form of both teams with a home win as our 2nd pick but both proved inaccurate.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”Click here for this week MJP” ]

Sheffield Wednesday v Reading

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 3-0

Reading came into this one in lacklustre form and it really showed as they were thoroughly hammered by the hosts.

The visitors did have a few chances with the most guilt-edged one coming as the 1st half came to a close. The hosts duly responded and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson saw a shot cleared off the line before Fernando Forestieri’s strike from the edge of the box was deflected in.

The hosts made it 2-0 when Adam Reach squared for George Boyd to easily tap in sending the visiting fans into ecstasy.

Bodvarsson, Modou Barrow and Sone Aluko all missed for Reading and Forestieri hammered in a third, before the Royals’ Tyler Blackett was sent off late on.

The result meant that Reading remain five points clear of the Championship drop-zone despite the heavy defeat.

We had gone for a draw as our 1st pick as both teams didn’t really have much to play for in terms of places on the league table. We had however gone for a home win as our 2nd pick simply based on home ground advantage and it proved to be accurate.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”Click here for this week MJP” ]

Ross County v Motherwell

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 0-0

The hosts slipped below Partick Thistle to the bottom of the Scottish Premiership after their barren draw with Scottish Cup finalists Motherwell.

The visitors did have a few chances with Allan Campbell testing Ross County goalkeeper Scott Fox in the first half.

County struggled to create openings throughout and now trail Hamilton Academical’s victors Thistle by just a solitary point with four games to go.

There was no doubt about the commitment and effort of the players in the first half but there were precious few clear-cut chances in what turned out to be a really bruising encounter.

It’s just two wins in Ross County’s past 21 league matches and it’s a winning ratio they must improve immediately as they face a make or break double-header away to Hamilton and Patrick Thistle.

Based on the host’s poor form, we had gone for an away win as our 1st pick. However, as the hosts are in a relegation scrap, we had a draw as our 2nd pick and it proved to be the winning one.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”Click here for this week MJP” ]

Celta Vigo v Valencia

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result:

With on-from Spanish player, Iago Aspas sidelined since the start of April due to injury, Brais Mendez was called in as a replacement for this spicy clash.

On the other hand, Gabriel Paulista and Geoffrey Kondogbia made their return from bans for the high-flying visitors and they proved vital cogs in what was a hard-fought draw.

Celta Vigo had lost just one of their last five La Liga games, but without Iago Aspas they were without their key man and they struggled to create as much.

The hosts are now commendably unbeaten in their last eight matches at Balaidos, with Barcelona recently held to a 2-2 draw against La Celeste.

Santi mina had broken the deadlock for the visitors in the 59’ only for the hosts to pull level four minutes later via a Maximiliano Gomez goal.

We had gone for a draw as our 1st pick based on Celta Vigo’s exemplary home record and this proved to be accurate.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”Click here for this week MJP” ]

Manchester Utd v Tottenham

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 2-1

Ander Herrera’s winner sent Manchester United into a record-equaling 20th FA Cup final and condemned Tottenham to their eighth successive defeat at this stage of the competition.

Spurs started off at a ferocious pace and fully deserved the early lead they took after just 11 minutes when Dele Alli slid home a finish from Christian Eriksen’s sumptuous cross following Davinson Sanchez’s long pass that literally opened up Manchester United’s defence.

Jose Mourinho’s side survived the siege and deservedly levelled on 24 minutes when former Arsenal player, Alexis Sanchez rose to direct an athletic header across Spurs keeper Michel Vorm from Paul Pogba’s inch-perfect cross for his eighth goal in eight appearances at Wembley stadium.

Eric Dier’s deflected shot hit the post on the stroke of half-time but Spurs had lost vital momentum and Herrera’s crisp low finish just after the hour set up an FA Cup final date for United with Chelsea 19th May.

It left Spurs suffering more FA Cup semi-final pain and with a losing sequence stretching back to their win in the last four against Arsenal here in 1991 – and Pochettino still without a trophy after four seasons at the club.

We had gone for a Manchester Utd win as our 1st pick simply based on the fact that Spurs always choke everytime a shot a trophy arises and this proved true.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”Click here for this week MJP” ]

Amiens v Strasbourg

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 3-1

Amiens continued on their fine home form and deservedly hammered the visitors. The rout was kick started by Thomas Monconduit whose left footed shot from the centre of the box found its way to the back of the net following some lovely build up by Serge Gakpé.

The hosts who were piling on the pressure duly got their 2nd of the match when Thomas Monconduit was on the end of yet another assist by Serge Gakpé. The hosts put the match well and truly beyond the visitors when Gael Kakuta fired home after being set up by Quentin Cornette.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”Click here for this week MJP” ]

The visitors did pull one back via Idriss Saadi in the 94th minute but it was nothing but a mere consolation goal.

We had gone for a draw as our 1st pick based on head to head records between these two but had a double chance as our 2nd pick and it proved accurate.

Metz v Caen

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 1-1

This was a rather uneventful encounter with the chances coming far and in between. The visitors did draw 1st blood when Damien da Silva scored in the 71st minute only for the hosts to rally pull level after just 2 minutes via Jessy Deminguet.

Given the general run of play, a draw seems a fair result as neither of the teams really pushed themselves to another gear which was necessary for a win.

We had gone for a home win as our 1st pick based on home advantage. We had however gone for a draw as our 2nd pick based on head to head records and this proved true.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”Click here for this week MJP” ]

Racing Genk v Anderlecht

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 2-1

This was what pundits like to describe as an end to end type of match as the hosts fought tooth and nail to secure a much-needed home win.

Dieumerci Ndongala pulled the hosts with his opener after just 2 minutes of play sending the home crowd wild. The visitors were not be bullied and they promptly rallied and got their deserved equaliser when star-player Lazar Markovic scored in the 20th minute

After going into the break level on the goals, the hosts came out firing on all cylinder and were duly rewarded for their relentless pressure when Leandro Trossard scored what turned out to be the winner in the 59th minute.

We had gone for a home win as our 1st choice based on current form and home ground advantage and this held true.

Fortuna Dusseldorf v Ingolstadt fc

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 3-0

Describing a one-sided match is often hard and this proved to be one of those type of matches as the visitiors offered little if anything at all in terms of goal scoring opportunities.

Rouwen Hennings pulled the industrious hosts ahead after just 7 minutes of play. It was one-way and they duly got their 2nd goal just before the break when Niko Giebelmann fired home.

Robin Bormuth put the match beyond the visitors following his 69th minute goal.

We had gone for a home win as our 1st pick based on current form and it proved accurate.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”Click here for this week MJP” ]

Kaisserslautern v Dynamo Dresden

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 0-1

Erich Berko’s 79th minute goal for the visitors was the only thing worth noting in what was a rather cagey affair with chances coming far and in between.

Notably as well, Marco Hartmann was handed red card for the visitors in the 84th minute for a clumsy tackle but the hosts simply couldn’t make the numbers count as they rallied for a late equaliser as the visiting team defended stoically.

We had gone for a draw as our 1st pick and a home win as our 2nd based on the hosts’ home record but none proved accurate.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”Click here for this week MJP” ]

Stoke City v Burnley

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 1-1

Stoke City manager Paul Lambert refused to write off their Premier League survival prospects after a draw with Burnley, saying “there are still a lot of twists and turns” to come.

Ashley Barnes’ sixth goal in eight games underlined the visitors’ European credentials, but left Lambert’s side – without a win in 11 matches – four points from a position of safety with just three matches left.

Stoke had looked set for victory when Senegalese midfielder Badou Ndiaye found the bottom corner with a deflected effort in the first period.

The Potter’s bad luck amounted to Mame Biram Diouf missing a glorious opportunity to double their advantage, and Lambert appeared to console the forward as he left the pitch at the end of the first half.

Devoid of attacking thrust for much of the first half – registering just two shots on target – Burnley ramped up their efforts after the break.

A point was secured after a change a change in tactics and intensity, as Dyche’s side shortened their game and got the ball wide, instead of knocking long balls in the direction of Barnes and Chris Wood, Icelandic talisman, Gudmundsson suddenly came to the fore and the Clarets carved out a succession of opportunities before Barnes grabbed a merited equaliser.

Dyche’s team still look likely candidates for European football next term, for the first since 1966-67. They are nine points clear of eighth-placed Leicester, and look set to qualify for the Europa League barring an unlikely sequence of results.

We had gone for a home win as our 1st choice based on the fact that Stoke are in a relegation scrap with a double chance as our 2nd pick but both proved inaccurate.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”Click hered for this week MJP” ]

Las Palmas v Alaves

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 0-4

After a goalless 1st half, the visitors drew first blood when Munir El Haddadi was on the end of Mubarak Wakaso sumptuous pass to hammer home what was to be the 1st of his two goals.

The visitors needed a second goal to give them some breathing space and it was duly scored by star-man Munir El Haddadi once again in and around the 73rd minute.

The third goal that put a nail in the coffin for the hosts was scored by Rubén Sobrino in the 79th minute following some intricate play. The 4th was scored in the 91st minute by Sobrino to condemn the hosts to a drubbing they’d like to forget.

We had gone for an away win and a double chance as our 1st and 2nd respectively based on the away sides current form and both predictions proved true.

Weeklong multibet

WHAT IS A WEEKLONG MULTIBET

A weeklong multibet is a bet that runs for several days .Kenyans love multibets because of the high odds and the possiblility of winning huge amounts from little investments .

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/get-weeklong-multibet/” text=”Click here for this week weeklong” ]

At multibet,we came up with the idea of spreading the games over several days and we have had great success .The multibet normally starts on Thursday and runs till Sunday  when the final games are played .

With 12 or 13 or 14 games depending on the week ,our weeklong multibet normally has between 90 – 120 odds .

Just last week our weeklong multibet with 90 odds came through and our customers made a  lot of money .Its always great to spread the risk over several days .Below is last week’s results .

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/get-weeklong-multibet/” text=”click here for this week weeklong” ]

METHODOLOGY

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/get-weeklong-multibet/” text=”Click here for this week weeklong” ]

When you place more than one game on your betting slip you are increasing the probabilities for the outcome. This in turn your risk of loss but it as well increases your odds which consequently increase how much you can win.

Our methodology is very simple we combine games that we would have otherwise bet on daily into a single betting slip that runs over several days.It is easier to find up to three good games to bet on per day for several days as opposed to looking for 14 games to bet on for a single day.

Dont get us wrong with the vast number of leagues in the worlds there are hundreds of games played everyday but not all games are carried by your preferred betting provider as they also evaluate which games provide a probable return for them when you loose.Taking this into mind it becomes abit tricky to find many games in a day that have higher chances of winning and are as well carried by your preferred betting provider.

To mitigate this we look for three to four good high winning chance games per day that are carried by sportpesa, undertake extensive research to ensure that we can predict the correct outcome at an above 90% certainty then combine similar games for 4 days (Thursday to Sunday)

HOW TO PLAY THE WEEKLONG MULTIBET FOR ASSURED WINS

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/get-weeklong-multibet/” text=”Click here for this week weeklong” ]

It is always smart to hedge your bets to ensure that in the worst case you break evening meaning you make your float back and in the best case you make a killing similar to what our last week’s customers did (some guys made up to ksh 100,000)

Step 1: Stake moderately on the whole week long multibet so that if and when it hits you make good money with a small amount of investment.

step 2:Hedge the slip by breaking down the 13/14 games into smaller multibets consisting of three or four games and staking moderately on each such that in the instant that the multibet misses by one or two games your smaller slips still make you some good money overall.

An example, given 14 games at 100 odds if you break them down into 4 smaller multibets of 3 games each you will likely come out with 4 smaller multibets of about 10 to 15 odds each.If you stake ksh 100 on the main slip and a smaller amount on the smaller slips in the event that you miss one or two games there is a high chance that 2 of your 10 to 15 odds multibet will go through meaning you would make ksh 2000 to ksh 3000 on a losing 14 game multibet but still end up coming out onto with your initial float intact as well as some additional cash.

Bet smart, bet wisely and have a profitable week ahead

We are back at it again with our Sportpesa Mega Jackpot post-match analysis. Brace yourselves as last week’s sportpesa mega jackpot games had it all, from tumbling records to stunning comebacks. With this in mind, let’s dive right into it, shall we?

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”CLICK HERE FOR THIS WEEK MJP” ]

Burnley v Leicester

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 2-1

Burnley’s Chris Wood scored against his former club while Kevin Long headed a second as the Clarets made it a five straight league wins. Leicester wasted several chances before Jamie Vardy’s powerful finish reduced the deficit, but the hosts hung on to open up a nine-point lead on their eighth-placed opponents with five games to play.

This is the first time the Lancashire club has won five consecutive matches in the top flight since November 1968 and the latest success against recent champions summed up their stellar season. All the key ingredients that can be used to define the clarets were there – hard work, grit, and determination. Vardy’s goal, after substitute Kelechi Iheanacho’s clever pass, was little consolation for manager Claude Puel, who lost goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to injury in the closing stages.

We had gone for a home win as our 1st win based on Burnley’s based on their exemplary run of form and stoic defense at home and this proved to be an accurate prediction.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”CLICK HERE FOR THIS WEEK MJP” ]

QPR v Preston

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 1-2

Preston kept their hopes of reaching the Championship play-offs alive as they came from behind to win at QPR. The Lilywhites move up to eighth, three points off the play-offs, with three games of the campaign remaining.

Matt Smith poked in Ryan Manning’s volleyed cross to put the hosts ahead. However, against the run of play, Callum Robinson levelled on the stroke of half-time when his close-range effort from a low ball in from Darnell Fisher just crept over the line.

After having a goal contentiously ruled out for offside, Robinson turned Alan Browne’s goal-bound header home on the line to seal victory for Alex Neil’s side.

We had gone for a home win as our 1st pick based on previous head-to-head records and a draw as our 2nd pick bit the late winner proved both predictions wrong.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”CLICK HERE FOR THIS WEEK MJP” ]

Huddersfield v Watford

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 1-0

Highly-rated prodigy, Tom Ince’s goal in injury time won the match for the Terriers with their first shot on target against well-drilled opponents at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The game was rather weary, with not a lot of clear-cut chances for both teams. Both defended well and were very organized.

The breakthrough came as Huddersfield defender Mathias Jorgensen latched on to a long punt into the area and squared the ball to Ince, who fired in from five yards.

We had gone for a draw as our 1st pick based on both teams’ current form with a double chance as our 2nd pick just in case either side nicked a late winner and this proved to be the case.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”CLICK HERE FOR THIS WEEK MJP” ]

Swansea v Everton

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 1-1

Everton boss Sam Allardyce praised Wayne Rooney’s midfield performance as they picked up a morale-boosting point against Swansea City who had been in exemplary home form with victories over Arsenal and Liverpool recorded at the Liberty Stadium.

Despite a dominant start from Swansea, during which they had two shots cleared off the line, a Kyle Naughton own goal put Everton ahead. Swansea kept control, however, and their pressure paid off as Jordan Ayew leveled with a cool finish from inside the box.

Big Sam highlighted Swansea’s performance at the Liberty Stadium, where they are unbeaten in their past six Premier League games.

Based on the Swans stellar home record, we had a home win and a draw as our 1st and 2nd pick respectively and the latter proved to be the winning one.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”CLICK HERE FOR THIS WEEK MJP” ]

Barnsley v Bolton

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 2

Result: 2-2

Oli McBurnie proved to be the hero of the day when he scored an injury-time equalizer to help Barnsley snatch a late draw with fellow Championship relegation strugglers Bolton.

Gary Gardner had fired the Tykes into a half-time lead from 10 yards and Bolton thought they had won it when Adam Le Fondre leveled with a penalty before Craig Noone volleyed in late on.

However, McBurnie came into the rescue when he headed in a corner to leave third-from-bottom Barnsley two points behind both Bolton and Birmingham City. Going into the last minutes, the Tykes appeared to be climbing out of the drop zone courtesy of Gardner’s strike after McBurnie had seen two efforts cleared off the line. That looked set to lift Bolton five points clear of the relegation zone but McBurnie headed in at the far post to earn Barnsley a crucial point.

With a relegation battle in mind, we had gone for a draw as our 1st pick and it proved to be the winning one.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”CLICK HERE FOR THIS WEEK MJP” ]

Norwich v Cardiff

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 0-2

Welsh giants, Cardiff City regained their advantage in the Championship automatic spots after securing a dramatically late win at Carrow Road.

Kenneth Zohore came off the bench to help Cardiff end a run of successive defeats with arguably their most important victory of the entire campaign. Junior Hoilett’s superb strike capped the comeback victory in stoppage time.

Fulham’s 1-1 draw with Brentford means Cardiff regained the second spot with a game in hand on the Londoners.

Cardiff had never previously done a league double over Norwich which explains our 1st pick being a draw but we gave the Welshmen a chance with a double chance as our 2nd pick and this proved to be the winning one.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”CLICK HERE FOR THIS WEEK MJP” ]

MK Dons v Doncaster

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 2

Result: 1-2

It had been a week of stellar comebacks in the football universe and Doncaster wasn’t to be left behind as John Marquis scored twice to help his side come from behind to salvage a 2-1 win over MK Dons – who slipped four points adrift of safety.

The visitors were a goal behind when Ike Ugbo netted for the Dons early on before Marquis found the net twice in the second half to complete an impressive turnaround for the visitors, as MK Dons suffered their third straight defeat.

Notably, the visitors completed the turnaround just after the hour when James Coppinger sailed through the MK midfield unchallenged before finding Tommy Rowe, who crossed to the unmarked Marquis inside the box before he tapped home to officially secure Darren Ferguson’s side’s League One status next season.

We had gone for a draw as our 1st pick based on the fact that both teams were scrapping for survival. However, as the hosts were on a winless run, we went for an away win as our 2nd pick and it proved to be the winning one.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”CLICK HERE FOR THIS WEEK MJP” ]

Walsall v AFC Wimbledon

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 2-3

Dean Parrett’s stoppage-time penalty capped a stunning comeback as Wimbledon fought back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against fellow relegation rivals Walsall.

Walsall had gone into the lead after just six minutes as Jack Fitzwater glanced at Erhun Oztumer’s free-kick past keeper George Long via his outstretched thigh. All seemed lost for the visitors when the hosts doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time via Julien Ngoy’s flicked ball over one Dons defender before he turned on the after-burners and outsprinted another to slot a cool finish under Long.

However, Nicky Devlin’s rash challenge on Andy Barcham handed Wimbledon a lifeline two minutes into the second half. Unlucky Walsall keeper Liam Roberts saved Lyle Taylor’s penalty with his legs and palmed away the loose ball only for Joe Pigott to slam home from close range. Taylor then fired an acrobatic volley off the post but latched onto keeper Long’s 65th-minute clearance to thump home a superb strike from just inside the box and it was game on.

The visitors won it deep into stoppage time as Parrett lashed home from the spot after Kory Roberts fouled Taylor. The victory pushed the Dons above Walsall, with the sides sitting four and three points respectively above the drop zone.

We had gone for an away win as our 1st pick based on the fact that they needed maximum points to have any hope of surviving the drop and this proved true.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”CLICK HERE FOR THIS WEEK MJP” ]

Chievo v Torino

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 0-0

As ever, goalless encounters are every football fans’ worst nightmare and this was one of those easy to forget matches. Both teams stepped into the Marcantonio Bentegodi stadium full of hope but a point apiece was the final result.

We had gone for a home win as our 1st pick based on head-to-head records as well as a draw as our 2nd pick and it proved to be the winning one.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”CLICK HERE FOR THIS WEEK MJP” ]

Leganes v Celta Vigo

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 1-0

High-flying Celta Vigo came into this one following a commendable 4-0 win against Sevilla. However, the hosts didn’t get the memo as they were in imperious form.

Their stalwart and bullish home performance were duly rewarded in the 63rd minute when Guerrero scored what was to be the match-winning goal. The visitors rallied with star-man Iago Aspas as their focal point but he was well marshaled by hosts’ stoic defense.

We had gone for an away win as our 1st win based purely on Iago Aspas’ rich vein on the form. However, we had a double chance as our double pick and this proved to be the winning one.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”CLICK HERE FOR THIS WEEK MJP” ]

Caen v Toulouse

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: PP

This particular match was postponed to be played at a later date.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”CLICK HERE FOR THIS WEEK MJP” ]

Strasbourg v St. Etienne

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 0-1

Former Arsenal defender, Mathieu Debuchy continued his rich vein of form since joining St Etienne in January. He has been coming up with crucial goals despite his playing position as a defender and this proved to be the case once again during this particular encounter.

His stunning left-footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom left corner after a sumptuous set-up by Kevin Monnet-Paquet proved to be the match-winning goal.

We had gone for an away win as our 1st pick based on the visitor’s current form and this proved to be accurate.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”CLICK HERE FOR THIS WEEK MJP” ]

 Atalanta v Inter Milan

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 0-0

Inter Milan’s chances of a Champions League berth were all but extinguished after their barren draw at Atalanta in the Italian Serie A last Saturday.

For their part, Atalanta was chasing a Europa League spot and they moved three points behind sixth-placed AC Milan, who host title hopefuls, Napoli, on Sunday and thus still stand a good chance at attaining this fete.

Inter struggled in Bergamo as Atalanta had the better of the chances during a rather lackluster first half. The hosts should have taken the lead in the fifth minute when Alejandro “Papu” Gomez was sent clear by a perfectly weighted ball from Bryan Cristante but he fired wide of the left post with only Samir Handanovic to beat.

The 19-year-old highly-rated prospect, Musa Barrow was given his first Serie A start by Atalanta and he almost had the dream debut as he went close on three occasions, seeing two efforts saved by Handanovic and sending another agonizingly wide.

The chances were far and in between after the break but Inter had a flurry of late opportunities to snatch all three points. Star-player Ivan Perisic, who had squandered two guilt-edged chances in the first half, again should have scored but he headed Eder’s cross wide and Inter failed to score for a third successive match.

We had a draw as our 1st pick simply based on the fact that it is usually the case when these two meet and this proved to be the winning pick.

Tottenham v Manchester City

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 1-3

This was a morale-boosting win for City after the disappointment of Tuesday’s chastening defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League quarter-finals, a competition many had pipped Pep and co to win as they have been arguably the best side in Europe.

Despite De Bruyne and co completely dominating the first half, there were some nervy moments as Tottenham got back into the match, nerves were settled though when in-form Englishman Raheem Sterling scored City’s decisive third goal.

Gabriel Jesus had put City ahead in the 22nd minute, racing onto club captain, Vincent Kompany’s sumptuous long ball and sliding a low shot past the on-rushing Hugo Lloris.

Just three minutes later, the France goalkeeper conceded a penalty, with a card-worthy studs-up sliding challenge on Sterling who had been causing them all sorts of problems down City’s right-hand flank. Replays did suggest that the incident occurred just outside the box but the penalty was awarded and Ilkay Gundogan converted from the spot to double City’s lead.

The host did manage to unsettle a few City nerves when against the run of play, Christian Eriksen halved the deficit. Latching onto Harry Kane’s through ball, his shot ricocheted off Aymeric Laporte and then back off the Dane and in past Ederson.

After the break City withstood a period of sustained pressure from Spurs before Sterling hammered in the rebound from Jesus’ shot to secure all three points in the 72nd minute. It inflicted Spurs’ first league defeat since losing 4-1 at City on 16 December, ending an unbeaten run of 14 matches.

The win meant that the Cityzens only needed one more win to secure the English Premier League title, however, Manchester United’s shocking loss at Old Trafford to the bottom-placed side West Brom literally handed their perennial rivals the title on a platter. Pep’s side was duly crowned the 2017/2018 English Premier League title following that result.

We had gone for an away win as our 1st pick simply based on the fact that Spurs are known to bottle it when it comes to the ‘big’ matches and this proved to be true.

Schalke v Borussia Dortmund

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 2-0

Schalke bagged all bragging rights by beating Dortmund 2-0 in Sunday’s Revierderby and consequently moved 4 points clear of their arch-rivals and challengers for second place in the German Bundesliga table.

Borussia Dortmund arrived at the Arena Auf Schalke arena with a simple and clear thought. A victory would take them above their opponents in their age-old battle for supremacy. However, they were outplayed by Schalke as second-half goals from Yevhen Konoplyanka and Naldo handed Domenico Tedesco’s men all three points and the much-publicized bragging rights.

German midfield maestro, Reus was Dortmund’s main threat in the second half and had a low shot saved by Fahrmann before his dangerous cross was turned wide by team-mate Christian Pulisic as they pushed for a way back into the game but it just wasn’t to be as the hosts were in boisterous form

The defeat meant that Dortmund slipped to fourth place, with Bayer Leverkusen moving ahead of them on goal difference.

We had gone for an away win as our 1st pick based on previous results in this fiery derby. We had a draw as our 2nd pick as we felt that the visitors were in the fine form more so with their star-men such as Reus is fine form. None proved true and this proved the old saying that when it comes to derbies, form doesn’t really count to be true.

Werder Bremen v RB Leipzig

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 1-1

Ademola Lookman was the toast of the town as he kept the visitor’s top-four hopes alive with a well-taken and crafty equalizer against the resurgent Werder Bremen on Sunday.

The visitors were looking to end a difficult week on a high, having suffered morale draining 4-1 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in their previous Bundesliga match and also fell at the hands of Marseille in the quarter-finals of the Europa League on Thursday. Following their chastening Europa exit, coach Ralph Hasenhüttl made six changes to his side, benching Liverpool-bound midfield talisman Naby Keita and only naming six substitutes.

As expected, Leipzig looked fatigued in the first half and duly fell behind on 28 minutes when Niklas Moisander scuffed a shot over the line after Max Kruse’s initial cracking effort had struck the bar.

Both sides pressed for a winner in what was truly an entertaining end to the game, but each lacked nerves of steel when the chance presented itself.  The result meant that Leipzig moved up above Hoffenheim into fifth, four points behind Borussia Dortmund in fourth, while Bremen climbed up to 12th.

We had a home win as our 1st pick based on the fact that the visitors had played on Thursday and fatigue levels would be present. However, we picked a draw as our 2nd pick simply based on previous head-to-head records that portrayed a high probability of a stalemate and this proved to be the case.

Lazio v Roma

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 0-0

These two teams came into this one with as differing emotions as is possible. Roma was still in a celebratory mood after staging the mother of all comebacks against European giants Barcelona in the champions league. On the other hand, Lazio was reeling from losing a 4-2 advantage in the Europa League against Red Bull Salzburg with the match ending 4-1 and 6-5 on aggregate in favor of the Austrians.

This set the mood for a rather dull affair as both teams seemed fatigued following their midweek exploits. The only notable event was the second yellow card handed to Lazio’s Stefan Radu in the 80th minute for a nasty foul. This gave the visitors the impetus to push for the last gasp winner and they almost did when Edin Dzeko’s right-footed shot from outside the box is going ever so after some lovely build-up play by Radja Nainggolan in the 91st minute.

Nil nil was the final score and it was fair given the general run of play.

We had gone for an away win as our 1st pick given Roma’s heroic display against the Catalan giants but had a draw as our 2nd pick based on the fact that both teams would be fatigued following their energy-sapping mid-week matches and this proved to be true.

Watford v Burnley

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 1-2

In a weekend of great comebacks, this definitely ranks among the best. It had it all, from the fastest goal scored from the bench in the English premier league so far this season to leaping headers. Burnley’s high-flying manager, Sean Dyche said that talks of the Europa League “might not be such a joke now” after his team fought back from a goal down to beat Watford with two goals in three astounding minutes.

“We have to find different ways to win and we did it with two set-pieces. They’ve been singing that chant about going on a European tour for ages – it started as a joke and now it’s like, ‘Hello! It might not be such a joke’.” He went on to say.

The visitors’ revival was sparked off courtesy of a goal from substitute Sam Vokes, who scored 22 seconds after coming on, making it the fastest goal by a substitute this season, and Jack Cork, whose header was confirmed by goal-line technology, securing a fourth consecutive top-flight win for Burnley for the first time since 1968 in the process.

The result left Burnley on course for the Europa League. They closed the gap on sixth-placed Arsenal to two points and pulled six clear of Leicester in eighth prior to Arsenal’s thrilling comeback against Southampton. Watford, who had gone ahead just after the hour mark through Roberto Pereyra, dropped a place to 12th despite dominating possession and creating more clear-cut scoring opportunities at Vicarage Road. However, despite this latest setback, following heavy defeats at the hands of Arsenal and Liverpool and being pegged back in the final minute against Bournemouth last week, the Hornets are still well placed for a best top-flight finish for 31 years.

We had gone for a draw as our 1st pick as, despite Watford’s exemplary home record, Burnley, who have had a fairy tale season would have too much in their tank. This also explains our double chance option as the 2nd pick as we felt the visitors had a good chance to win and it proved to be the winning pick.

Bournemouth v Crystal Palace

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 2-2

Talk about a topsy-turvy match and the clash between relegation battling Palace and Bournemouth comes to mind. Bournemouth edged what was largely a quiet first half on the south coast in terms of chances created, but Palace went ahead two minutes into the second half thanks to a sumptuous Luka Milivojevic free-kick. However, King’s fellow substitute Lys Mousset equalized with a calm finish from the edge of the area 18 minutes later.

Star-player, Zaha then put the visitors back in front with 15 minutes left with a wonderful individual effort and Palace looked to be heading for a crucial three points in their quest for survival. This wasn’t to be though as they were denied late on when yet another substitute Josh King, poked home at the back post from a corner and leveled it for Bournemouth ensuring that a point was all both teams got by the final whistle. King’s late leveler meant that the Cherries have now won a league-high 18 points from losing positions and continued a remarkable run which has seen them score a goal in the 89th minute or later in each of their last seven league games. A truly remarkable fete that deserves every accolade that’s thrown at them at the moment.

Hodgson, the Eagles manager, will hope that his side finds a ruthless streak as they enter the run-in or they will be left looking over their shoulders at what could have been.

Despite the cherries home advantage, we went for an away win as our 1st choice as we felt that the visitors had more to play for and this proved true right till the 89th minute. However, we went for a draw as our 2nd pick just in case the cherries maintained their late goal scoring form which they duly did, thereby making our 2nd pick the correct one.

West Brom v Swansea

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 1-1

This was as controversial a match as they come with Swansea manager, Carlos Carvalhal going as far as stating that the baggies goal should not have stood and that the referee, Roger East made a big mistake in awarding Jay Rodriguez’s opener at the Hawthorns. His counterpart, West Brom caretaker manager Darren Moore on the other hand praised the “first-class” response of his players as they ended their eight-game losing streak following their hard-fought draw against the Swans.

“I’m really delighted even though we couldn’t hang on for the win,” said Moore, who is in now in charge after the Baggies parted company with Alan Pardew earlier this month.

The Baggies were kept out by a stellar display from visiting Polish goalkeeper, Lukasz Fabianski, who denied West Brom’s top scorers, Rodriguez and Chris Brunt – before Rodriguez eventually put them ahead when he poked in Salomon Rondon’s cheeky flick-on. Chelsea’s on-loan striker Abraham, was in place to pull the visitor’s level when he rose above marker Jake Livermore to head in a Sam Clucas corner with only 15 minutes left on the clock.

It was a really poor goal to concede and ended up undoing all of Albion’s good work in a matter of seconds following a lapse in concentration. The Baggies did try to drag themselves back from that blow in the final few minutes, but neither team managed to create much more of note. Albion is without a doubt destined for the Championship, that much is certain, but at least this performance suggests that under Moore, they will go down fighting.

Following the change in management, we felt that the hosts were set to stop the rot with a draw which was our 1st pick. We did place a double chance as our 2nd pick as we still felt that the hosts were set to cause an upset under new management. Our 1st pick proved to be the winning one.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”click here for this week mjp tips” ]

Reading v Preston

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 1-0

On the so-called unlucky thirteenth attempt, the Royals won their first Saturday home game of the season. It may have been an ugly and uncultured display, but the hosts held on to their one-goal lead to secure a vital three points and restore their five-point gap to the drop-zone. The home side put out a dogged and determined performance throughout, a trademark of Paul Clement’s rejuvenated Royals.

The game was as feisty as they come. Preston was extremely physical in their challenges but the hosts matched their enthusiasm every step of the way. Cynical slide tackles from Darnell Fisher and Ben Davies riled the home crowd and soon proved to be the Lilywhites’ undoing. Liam Kelly floated a free-kick into the penalty area following another cynical foul, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson flicked his header to the far post, where Mo Barrow was left completely unmarked to nod home what proved to be the match-winner and the impressive Gambian’s tenth goal of the season.

The second half was pretty similar with Preston probing and the hosts standing firm. Bodin was unlucky not to level at the far post and substitute Sean Maguire headed against the crossbar. Despite the mounting pressure, the home side didn’t look nervy at all – but rather compact, relaxed, and well-drilled. Tiago Ilori and Liam Moore were outstanding, winning the majority of their aerial battles and launching themselves fearlessly into blocks and tackles. The back four took few risks, only passing out of defense when safe, and were not afraid to pick out row Z when a proper clearance was required. Consequently, they caused very few of their own problems.

All in all, Reading looked largely united again – both on and off the pitch. The fans were back behind the team and the players are responded in kind, with a performance characterized by the guts and courage of successful Reading teams of yesteryears. The Victory kept Reading 19th and restored their five-point cushion above the bottom three, while Preston’s fourth defeat in five dropped them to 11th, six points outside the play-off places.

We had gone for an away win as our 1st pick as we felt that Preston’s quest for a playoff berth would prove to be incentive enough and a draw as our 2nd pick but none proved true as the new Reading manager seems to have rallied his troops and they duly pulled a truly gutsy performance.

Bristol Rovers v Charlton

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 1-1

The Injury-hit Bristol Rovers produced a battling display to hold promotion-chasing Charlton to a draw at the Memorial Stadium. The hosts took a 21st-minute lead following an error by Charlton skipper Jason Pearce, whose header back to goalkeeper Ben Amos lacked sufficient pace and Kyle Bennett nipped in to take full advantage by shooting home from close range.

Just before half-time, the scores were level as Ben Reeves neatly exchanged passes with Sullay Kaikai on the edge of the box and saw his shot brush the leg of defender Lee Brown to beat the dive of Sam Slocombe. The Rovers goalkeeper had earlier on made a brilliant 36th-minute save to keep out a curling right-footed effort from Nicky Ajose and repeated his heroics on 53 minutes to keep out a similar effort from Reeves.

Already without half-a-dozen injured players, the hosts lost midfielder Liam Sercombe on 24 minutes and had to move captain Tom Lockyer forward from the central defense. They however fought on valiantly to earn a point against their high-flying opponents.

We had an away win as our 1st pick based on the visitor’s promotion ambitions and Bristol’s long injury list. However, we placed a draw as our 2nd pick as we felt the hosts would play for pride and this proved to be the winning pick.

Millwall v Bristol City

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 2-0

Top-notch strikes from Jed Wallace and Steve Morison sealed victory for the Lions, it could have been one of those cricket score matches were it not for City’s heroic defending and top-class goalkeeping from Frank Fielding. However, City’s play-off fight continues despite the confidence draining 2-0 defeat to Millwall at the Den.

Half chances fell to the Robins but the home side’s exemplary finishing meant they would secure the maximum points and leapfrog Saturday’s visitors in the Sky Bet Championship as both teams were locked level on 62 points heading into this one, with City sitting in seventh-place on goals scored alone. The atmosphere which followed kick-off was electric to set up a fast pace in the early exchanges with the home fans acting as the 12th man in full voice.

the first-half blow came when Jed Wallace’s top corner strike left Fielding with no chance. Ben Marshall had picked out his teammate on the left-hand side and the winger’s curling effort picked out the far corner of the goal to break the deadlock and sent the home fans into a frenzy. Despite trying to rally a response, City couldn’t muster a serious effort in their search for an equalizer although Jamie Paterson tried his luck from distance, firing low and wide of Jordan Archer’s goal.

The hosts doubled their lead just seven minutes into the second half when Gregory’s back-heel picked out his on-rushing teammate, who calmly slotted the ball into the top left corner, beyond the fully stretched Fielding. The city survived a scare almost immediately as the home side looked to put the match to bed with a 3rd goal. Wallace intercepted a Josh Brownhill pass and ran deeply and purposefully into the visiting side’s half. He then picked out Gregory whose shot on the turn was blocked by Bryan, while Morison’s rebound was also blocked and Fielding’s heroics kept out George Saville’s effort before the referee awarded a City free-kick that brought the carnage to a stop and gave the visitors a much-needed breather.

We placed a home win as our 1st choice simply based on the head-to-head record between these two while a draw was our second pick. Needless to say, our 1st pick once again proved to be the winning one.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”click here for this week mjp tips” ]

Rochdale v Portsmouth

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 3-3

This was another pulsating match that had yet another memorable comeback or rather several comebacks in what was arguable, a strong contender for match of the weekend if you can bring yourself to forget the thrilling Manchester derby. Matt Done’s injury-time own goal proved to be what denied Rochdale the chance to move out of the unenviable League One relegation zone as Portsmouth came from behind not once nor twice but three times to snatch a draw.

The hosts first went ahead as early as the 13th minute when Brad Inman rifled a low drive across Pompey goalkeeper Luke McGee only for Portsmouth to equalize 13 minutes later when Jamal Lowe raced forward on the counter-attack and cut the ball back to leave Brett Pitman with an easy finish. The home side regained the lead with a well-worked goal in the 56th minute with Inman and Done combining to tee up Humphrys, who curled a finish wide of McGee. However, once again the visitors drew level via Pitman who turned in at the near post after McNulty’s hashed attempt to clear his lines from a free-kick.

Dale’s third and what was thought to be the match-winner came in the 72nd minute when Inman crossed for Calvin Andrew to nod the ball down for an easy Henderson tap in. Pompey however refused to go down quietly into the dying of the light and pulled level for a 3rd time when Done, under pressure in a packed penalty area, headed into his own net in stoppage time. A truly nail-biting clash came to a close and sharing of points was probably the fair outcome given the grand scheme of things.

We had gone for an away win as our 1st pick based purely on current form status and a double chance as our 2nd pick but the draw meant we were slightly off in this one thanks mainly due to the stoppage-time own goal.

Oxford Utd v Oldham

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result:  0-0

This was a rather cagey affair and there were few scoring chances in what can only be described as a truly nervy encounter at the Kassam Stadium. The barren stalemate meant that Karl Robinson is still looking for his first win since taking over at Oxford United four games ago.

Notably, though, the home side had a serious let-off when Todd Kane appeared to push Wilfried Moimbe in the back with the Oldham player running into the danger area, but the referee let it go. Oxford had another effort blocked right on the line in the second half when Rob Dickie’s header was stopped before a mad scramble ended with Wes Thomas hooking a shot over.

The fact that the first save for either goalkeeper came five minutes from time when Latics’ Johny Placide held a drive from Ryan Ledson really says it all when it comes to this particular match.

We had a draw as our 1st pick on this purely based on past records and it turned out to be a correct prediction.

AFC Wimbledon v Scunthorpe

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 1-1

An early goal and a really late equalizer would be the best way to describe this encounter. Star player, Lee Novak snatched a late equalizer for Scunthorpe to seal a draw at AFC Wimbledon leaving many home fans with a bitter taste in their mouths.

The Dons had drawn first blood after just four minutes as Scunthorpe failed to clear a corner and Will Nightingale rose highest to expertly head in Harry Forrester’s dangerous in-swinging left-wing cross. The visitors enjoyed a commendable spell of possession but failed to create any clear-cut chances.

Both sides started the second half slowly, with Jordan Clarke’s weak shot saved easily by George Long. However, with just five minutes left on the clock, Duane Holmes burst down the left and Novak converted his low cross from close range to level with their first real chance of the game.

Despite the intense late pressure from the visitors as they pushed for a winner, Wimbledon held on to make it four games unbeaten although they remain just a point from safety in 20th while Scunthorpe is now winless in 10 matches leading them to fall down to 9th with just a point separating them from the highly coveted play-off spot.

We had an away win as our 1st pick simply based on the fact that the visitors were playing for a playoff spot. However, based on their head-to-head records, we placed a draw as our 2nd pick and it proved to be the winning thanks largely to the late equalizer.

Gillingham v Doncaster Rovers

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 2

Result: 0-0

Nothing frustrates football enthusiasts as much as a barren draw and this proved to be one of those matches that are quickly forgotten, as both teams held on to a rather lackluster goalless stalemate in the highly anticipated English league one match.

Folk hero, Conor Wilkinson missed the hosts’ best chances to snatch victory but, on a more positive note, the point earned ended a run of three successive defeats. The striker came the closest for the hosts, who are now winless at home in four games when he headed onto the roof of the net from Bradley Garmston’s cross. The 23-year-old had the hard work by dispossessing Rovers goalkeeper Marko Marosi but was inexplicably unable to fire into the empty net from a difficult angle in and around the 35th minute.

We had a draw as our 1st pick in this one based on both teams’ current form and this proved to be an accurate prediction.

Plymouth v Peterborough

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 2-1

They should really call last week the comeback week as this involved yet another stunning comeback between two play-off rivals. Plymouth playmaker Graham Carey proved to be the hero in this particular story when he expertly tucked away a stoppage-time penalty winner as Argyle came back from 1-0 down to beat League One play-off rivals Peterborough United at Home Park.

The Posh went ahead when top-scorer, Jack Marriott took his tally to 26 goals with a superb 10th-minute finish as he pounced on bouncing through ball to cheekily lob stand-in goalkeeper Kyle Letheren. However, the hosts’ best move of the first half resulted in their equalizer. They went on a sweeping move down the left-wing and skipper Gary Sawyer’s pinpoint cross to the near post was headed into the far corner – past goalkeeper Conor O’Malley – by their target man Ryan Taylor.

The match took a turn for the worse for the visitors as they were reduced to 10 men in the 75th-minute when right-back Liam Shephard was shown a straight red card for violent conduct. At the very death, the visitors, who were already down to 10 men, had Steven Taylor dismissed for a second bookable offense as he tried delaying Carey’s spot-kick which was awarded for a foul on full-back Oscar. The last gasp winner meant that Plymouths’ hopes of a playoff spot are very much alive.

We had a home win as our 1st pick based on the head-to-head record between these two teams as well as the home-ground advantage factor. As draws are a rarity when these two meet, we had a double chance as our 2nd pick and ended up with 2 winning predictions.

[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.multibet.co.ke/mega-jackpot-prediction/” text=”Click here for this week MJP tips” ]

Celta Vigo v Sevilla

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 4-0

In form Spanish striker Iago Aspas was the star of the show as he scored a memorable hattrick to condemn Sevilla to a battering defeat. Coming into this one off the back of a narrow defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich in their champions league crunch tie, Sevilla must have been in two minds with the return match only a few days away and it really showed.

They say that when it comes to football matches, one should only focus on the match ahead but the visitors must have ignored the script. Celta Vigo drew first blood in and around the 38th minute via an Arana own goal after a spell of immense pressure. They went into the break on the ascendancy and pretty much picked up from they left off in the second half. Aspas came to life in a spell-binding 21 minutes in which he scored 3 goals to send the home crowd into a frenzy. Sevilla just wasn’t in the races and the hosts went for the jugular with aplomb.

With their resilient show against the German giants in mind, we had gone for an away as our 1st choice. However, as most coaches tend to rest key players in between champions league matches, we had a draw as our 2nd Pick. The Iago Aspas effect is one we definitely shouldn’t have overlooked.

AZ Alkmaar v PSV Eindhoven

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 2-3

Just when you thought we were done with comebacks, the Dutch decided to take us on another wild one. Arguably two of the best in the Dutch league clashed over the weekend and it was definitely a serious contender for match of the weekend as they went at it tooth and nail.

As is always the case when two giants meet, they spent the entire 1st half sizing each other up with the occasional close shaves here and there but both held their own to head into the break level and goalless. This was to be one of those game of two halves kind of matches as there was a total of 5 goals by the time the game came to a close. The hosts broke the deadlock via two rapid-fire goals by Wout Weghorst in the 53’ and 61’ respectively sending the home faithful into delirium. This could be easily described as poking the hornet’s nest as the visitors and champions in waiting came to life in a flurry of 5 minutes to score 3 goals between the 71’ and 76’ effectively silencing the home crowd. It went from bad to worse for the hosts as Ron Vlaar was sent off in the 89’ to be a close to what was truly a scintillating match of football.

Based on the form of the visitors, we went for a home win as our 1st pick as well as a double chance as our 2nd as we felt that a draw was out of the cards and both proved to be true.

Amiens v Caen

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 3-0

This was as one-sided an affair as they come with the hosts running riot against their less fancied opponents. Caen has been poor on the road in the French league and they were really up against it as they faced an Amiens team that has been in fine form at home.

The hosts went ahead as early as the 20’ via Bakaye Dibassy and didn’t look back since.  10 minutes later, Serge Gakpe made it 2 nil and effectively killed off what little confidence that still existed in terms of mounting a comeback. Amiens went into the break on a comfortable lead with the visitors looking jaded and bereft of ideas. Pape Moussa Konate made it 3 nil early on in the second half and it was pretty much over as a contest right there and then as the hosts held on to secure a memorable win and the much-needed 3 points.

We went for a home win as our 1st pick simply due to the outstanding home record and abysmal away record of Caen. We did give the visitors an outside chance with a double chance our 2nd pick and both picks proved true.

Sampdoria v Genoa

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 0-0

This feisty Italian derby promised so much on paper yet delivered zero goals on the pitch. Granted, Pandev did the score for the visitors but the linesman correctly flagged him offside to the grunts of the rowdy visiting supporters.

Sampdoria fans were in full voice with flares in hand as they tried to spur their team to victory but it just wasn’t to be as both sides canceled each other out. The only chances recorded in this particular match were mostly long-range shots that never really troubled either keeper. There were a few penalty shouts by the hosts as players went tumbling down following the faintest of touches, but the referee was having none of it. Genoa had yet another goal correctly ruled out for offside again as the match was brought to a close. The draw can be deemed as a fair result as neither team really did enough to warrant the maximum points.

We had gone for a draw as our 1st pick as in derbies, teams tend to cancel each other out with a lot of pride and bragging rights at stake, this proved to be the correct prediction.

Verona v Cagliari

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 1-0

Don’t let the score-line fool you as this match could have had 3 or 4 goals were it not for some exemplary goalkeeping heroics on both ends of the pitch. The home side did secure the much-needed 3 points thanks to a penalty in the 39th minute that was converted by their skipper, Romulo.

VAR was in the spotlight on this one as the referee took time out to watch the replay following handball shouts from Verona players. A few seconds later the referee pointed to the spot and despite the keeper getting a hand on Romulo’s spot-kick, it was just too powerful and forced its way into the back of the net. The hosts did go 2 nil up mid-way through the second half, but once again VAR technology came into play and helped the officials spot an offside player involved in the build-up to the goal. Despite a late flurry of chances by Cagliari, the hosts held on by the skin of their teeth to secure maximum points.

We had gone for a home win as our 1st choice based on head-to-head records and it proved to be accurate.

Eintracht Frankfurt v Hoffenheim

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 1-1

Hoffenheim had only lost one of their last eight Bundesliga matches and was in good domestic form since crashing out of the Europa League heading into this one. They sat only three points behind Frankfurt and could have overtaken them had they won on the day. However, the hosts were on a 5-match home winning streak heading into this one thus setting us up for a mouthwatering encounter, on paper at least

It proved to be a competitive game between two outsiders hoping to challenge for a Champions League spot. The chances came far and in between as the teams canceled each other out effectively. They headed into the break goalless but this was soon rectified as the hosts pulled in front via their star man, Luka Jovic. The joy was short-lived though, only 7 minutes later, former Arsenal Player Serge Gnabry found the back of the net to pull the visitor’s level and proved to be the match point as it ended 1 all.

We had gone for a draw as our 1st pick as we felt that was the best possible outcome when two in-form teams met and it proved to be true.

That’s it following another weekend of scintillating sportpesa megajackpot matches. We scored a high of 10/17 on our 1st picks and are really looking forward to going two or three matches better in this week’s sportpesa megajackpot predictions. West Ham v Southampton

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 3-0

Moyes’ side eased the tension around their home ground with two goals in the opening 17 minutes, first from Joao Mario and then Marko Arnautovic. The game was the Hammers’ first since fans invaded the pitch during their 3-0 home defeat by Burnley before the international break, but they produced a brilliant performance to overcome their highly publicized recent troubles and end a run of three consecutive heavy defeats on the trot.

Mario smashed in the opener from the edge of the penalty area after being picked out by Cheikhou Kouyate, who had carried the ball powerfully away on the counter-attack. Portuguese midfielder, Mario then set up Arnautovic for the second with a brilliant cross from the right that the Austrian bundled home at the second attempt. Arnautovic, the star of the show, added his second in first-half stoppage time, volleying home another fine cross, this time from the left flank by Arthur Masuaku to send the vibrant home crowd into ecstasy.

West Ham manager David Moyes said their fans’ support “inspired” his players as they thrashed relegation rivals Southampton at London Stadium to move clear of the relegation zone. Needless to say, the Saints will have to produce something the likes of which they haven’t managed all season if they are to avoid relegation.

Based on their recent home woes, we went for an away win as our 1st pick. However, bearing in mind that their fans have been quite unpredictable of late, we opted for a double chance as our 2nd pick just in case the home crowd decided to rally behind the team. They were in full voice and the team responded with a stellar performance thus making our 2nd pick the correct one.

West Brom v Burnley

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 1-2

Former/recently fired West Brom manager Alan Pardew said that some of his players “couldn’t deal” with their relegation battle after Burnley condemned them to a Premier League record eighth successive defeat.

Ashley Barnes’ spectacular volley and Chris Wood’s second-half goal kept Burnley’s European hopes alive, while a late Salomon Rondon strike could not prevent the hosts losing again. The Baggies remain seven points adrift at the bottom of the table and Pardew demanded more confidence from his players.

Burnley striker Wood could have scored twice after Barnes’ first-half opener and it’s important to note that Sean Dyche’s men were denied a strong penalty claim when Ahmed Hegazi tugged heavily on James Tarkowski’s shirt in the area. But New Zealand international Wood, who started his career in England at The Hawthorns, scored from close range after the break to settle their nerves. Rondon struck late on to give the Baggies brief hope but the Clarets held firm to push West Brom ever closer to the drop. The Hawthorns was already emptying in added time, although Albion kept pressing for an equalizer in the extra five minutes.

Burnley are now only two points behind seventh-placed Arsenal, who faced strugglers Stoke at the Emirates on Sunday lunchtime, a match in which they won 3-0 thanks to goals from their new Gabonese signing, Aubameyang who scored twice and Lacazette marking his return from injury with a goal as well, albeit from the penalty spot.

Going by the baggies abysmal form in the 2017/2018 English premier league season with a tally of 20 points from 32 matches and sitting squarely at the bottom of the EPL Table, we saw nothing short of an away win in all our picks and this proved to be the case.

Brighton v Leicester City

Our 1st Pick:2

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 0-2

This was as feisty an affair as they come. Leicester scored twice and had Wilfred Ndidi sent off in the last few minutes, all after Brighton striker Glenn Murray had missed a penalty in what can only be described as a topsy-turvy match.

“It’s frustrating and hard to take. It was certainly not a game that we deserved to lose,” said Hughton, the current manager of Brighton & Hove Albion.

The win keeps Leicester in eighth, while Brighton drop one place to 13th in the table. Foxes keeper, Kasper Schmeichel was in inspired form and saved Murray’s penalty in the 77th minute, with Vicente Iborra’s header putting Leicester into the lead shortly afterwards. Ndidi’s foul on Shane Duffy earned the midfielder his second yellow card, but Leicester hung on with Jamie Vardy adding Leicester’s second deep into injury time to secure a crucial win for the foxes in terms of keeping their European dream alive.

This will be one match that Glenn Murray will want to forget about very quickly. The Cumbrian striker’s 11 league goals made him Brighton’s leading scorer this season and it was a shock to everyone to see him miss the target completely when one-on-one with Schmeichel shortly before half-time. His missed spot kick lacked conviction and it proved to be the game’s turning point, with the visitors making the most of the opportunity to snatch all three points.

We based all our picks (home win or double chance) on the form of Leicester’s star striker, Jamie Vardy. The English talisman has now scored 3 goals in as many matches. He proved to be the difference as his goal laid the game to rest and consequently made our pick of an away win an accurate one.

Hull City v Aston Villa

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 0-0

This was a match pitting 2 in form teams in the English Championship and as expected, it was a lively encounter. With the hosts seeking to avoid relegation and the visitors aggressively seeking promotion to the top tier of English football, no quarter was given as both teams battled it out for 3 precious points.

Needless to say, Aston Villa lost precious ground in their search for automatic promotion as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Hull on Saturday evening.

Albert Adomah missed two chances to open up an early lead at the KCOM, firstly poking Robert Snodgrass’ teasing cross over from close range, before being dispossessed just yards from the goal line by Ola Aina.  On the other hand, the tigers, battling for their lives at the bottom half of the table, defended well and were denied what looked like a clear penalty early in the second half when Jack Grealish appeared to have raised his hands to Seb Larsson’s pin-point accurate free-kick.

As the first of Adomah’s chances presented itself, there was little more Snodgrass could have done to deliver a better ball into the heart of the danger area from the right flank, but the Ghana international somehow fluffed his shot from just a few yards out. The tigers should have done better when both substitutes, Jon Toral and Max Clark fired strikes over the bar, but in the end, it was their defense that held firm to secure a valuable point in their survival quest and their talismanic defender, Michael Dawson duly received the man of the match award.

We had gone for an away win as our 1st pick simply based on the fact that Aston Villa are in pursuit of an automatic promotion spot to the English Premier League but it was the killer final ball that was lacking making our 2nd pick of either team to win it inaccurate.

Lokeren v St Truiden

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 1-0

This was a rather drub affair at the Daknamstadion stadium in Belgium. The only goal of the game came in and around the 38th minute courtesy of a penalty rightfully awarded and expertly converted by the home sides’ star player, Mijat Maric.

The visitors did try to mount a counter offensive as the 2nd half wore on but they lacked the killer final ball as well as the vital calm and composure needed in front of goal. The vociferous home crowd were in full volume from kickoff and this helped the home-side as they held on to secure victory.

Coming into this one, we had minimal information regarding either sides, style of play and thus relied solely on the head to head records pertaining to both teams. This led to our 1st prediction of draw as per the stats but now in retrospect, we could have and probably given the home side the benefit of home ground advantage as their fans played a vital role in their victory. We did however get our 2nd pick spot on with a home win.

Lierse v Mouscron

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 0-3

Goals from Teddy Mezague (28′) Selim Amallah (52’) Taiwo Awoniyi (59′) helped Mouscron secure a vital win in the Belgian Jupiler League as they maintained they exceptional form albeit out on the road where their results hadn’t been commendable prior to this convincing win.

It was a rather one side encounter as the home team, low on confidence failed to test the visitor’s keeper. Mouscron currently sit 2nd in the table while Lierse are 6th and it was easy to tell the gulf in class between the two teams. The visitors were patient in the game play and picked the right moments to turn it up a notch. This forced Lierse into individual mistakes that ultimately cost them the game. The chants from the home crowd didn’t help much as the visitors were just too good on the day thoroughly deserved all the points.

We had a draw as our 1st picked based on previous head to head record between these two but placed an either to win bet as our 2nd pick and it proved to be the winning one.

Sporting Braga V Sporting Lisbon

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 1-0

They don’t come feistier than this in the Portuguese League and despite the low score line, it was truly a thrilling encounter with both teams going for the jugular right from the 1st whistle. The goal scoring chances for both sides came the buckets but we had to wait until the 87th minute for the first and only goal of the match. Raúl Silva (Sporting Braga) headed from the center of the box to the top left corner following a sumptuous delivery by Nikola Vukcevic with a headed pass following a set piece situation.

We had a home win as our 1st pick and a double chance as our 2nd mainly due to the fact that this feisty had produced one draw in over 28 matches spanning back to 2004. We were almost certain that one would end up victorious and it proved to be the case.

Ural Yekaterinburg v Rubin Kazan

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 1-1

This was yet another drub affair with chances coming far and in between. The visitors scored the opener late on in the 2nd half via Ivelin Popov, only for Ural to nick an equalizer with under 20 minutes to go. The hosts did make a late rally to try and seal a deserved home victory but they had a player, Eric Bicfalvi, who also happened to be their goal-scorer, sent off in the 88th minute and were just too timid in front of goal thus the draw could be deemed a fair result in the grand scheme of things.

We had gone for a home win as our 1st pick and a double chance as our second pick but the red card, coupled with the fact that the visitors did make the numerical advantage count in the dying minutes was something we just couldn’t foresee.

Greuther Furth v Union Berlin

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 2-1

Both teams came into this hotly contested encounter off the back of chastening defeats in their previous matches. However, Greuther Furth had only lost that one match in a run of 5 games and thus could be said to have been a team on the ascendancy.

This proved to be the case as the hosts drew first blood in and around the 21st minute via star-man Roberto Hilbert. They could have had a second late on in the 1st half but their profligacy in front of goal would prove costly. After some pep talk during the break, the visitors came out firing on all cylinders and duly got their equalizer in the 49th courtesy of a trademark Marvin Freidrich goal. Sadly though, all the visitors hard work was undone with just 15 minutes left to go as Grischa Promel scored an own goal that proved to be the match winner for the hosts.

We had a home win as our 1st pick and a double chance as our 2nd simply based on the fact that the home team had been on the ascendancy in terms of overall form and this proved to be the right prediction.

Arminia Bielefeld v Holstein Kiel

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 1-1

This was one of those matches that promised so much in terms of attacking football on paper but as they say, football matches are never won on paper, now are they? There really wasn’t anything to write home about as it was a really cagey affair with both sides hell-bent on not losing. The goals came thick and fast with the hosts taking the lead in the 21st minute via Brian Behrendt, only for Kingsley Schindler to pull the visitors level 4 minutes later.

As was predicted in our 2nd pick, the teams ended up sharing the spoils with a point each after a rather forgettable and drub affair.

Guingamp vs Bordeaux

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 2-1

Since their 3-2 success against Amiens on February 10, the Girondins had never known the smell of victory. One can blame it on their lacklustre and catastrophic series that sounded the death knell of their European ambitions.

So, against Guingamp, the Bordelais experienced a new failure in Brittany. After a rather insipid 1st period, Benoît Costil and his team lacked enough threatening ideas in the game to worry the hosts. Logically, it was the form of Antoine Kombouaré that led to the opener, thanks to a well placed free-kick by star player and French international, Clément Grenier.

At 2-0, it was game over for Bordeaux and their goal by Malcom proved to be a mere consolation as the hosts held on bravely till the final minute.

We had gone for an away win as our 1st choice based on the head to head record between the two. However, with the fact that Bordeaux’s European dream was fading, we opted for a double chance as our 2nd pick which proved to be the right one.

Werder Bremen v Eintracht Frankfurt

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 2-1

Frankfurt boss Niko Kovac may have been plotting a Champions League place for the first time in nearly 60 years, but Florian Kohfeldt’s Bremen were in form as well, having won five of their last seven. Frankfurt made the quicker start, but couldn’t find a breakthrough, and it was Bremen who went in front when Thomas Delaney had time and space to cross, and Zlatko Junuzovic arrived right on cue, albeit with the help of a little deflection. The ball went in after ricocheting off Makoto Hasebe, but no doubt the Austrian’s goal.

Max Kruse was instrumental in everything Bremen were doing in the final third, and another deflection from his clever effort forced Lukás Hrádecky into an excellent save. Jirí Pevlenka was busy at the other end, too, pushing away Kevin-Prince Boateng’s cross, and then reacting smartly to keep out the follow up shot.

Frankfurt came out firing in the second half and were soon level. An assist of the season contender from Kevin-Prince Boateng, and a very tidy strike from Luka Jovic brought the match to life in the 53rd minute. A quite brilliant assist from Ghanaian, though. A back heel with both pace and height, and it got the finish it deserved.

At inside three minutes, Frankfurt might have been ahead. Marco Fabián sent Jovic racing clear, but this time the Serbian couldn’t beat Pavlenka. That might have proved decisive, but out of nothing, Bremen won it 11 minutes from time.

A hopeful cross skimmed off David Abraham’s head, and the usually-reliable Hrádecky had one of those nightmare goalkeeping moments. Maybe he was just a fraction too far off his line, or misjudged the trajectory, but you’d simply never expect that kind of a schoolboy error. The scintillating match ended in favor of the hosts who are surely safe now in terms of relegation.

We had gone for a home win as our 1st choice and a double chance as 2nd based on the fact that both teams had something to fight for, the hosts needed safety from relegation while the visitors were looking to keep their European dreams alive. This made the possibility of a draw highly unlikely according to our research and we were proved right by the final whistle.

Chelsea v Tottenham

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 1-3

This to be arguably our match of the weekend. Any match that pits two clubs coming from a similar geographical location and more so, clubs from London, is almost certified to be a cracker. Couple this with the fact that Spurs hadn’t won at Stamford Bridge in 28 years, an you’d have the recipe for thrilling high-octane clash. We are happy to say that the match lived up to its hype as the two teams went for the jugular right from the start.

Chelsea must have thought that their proud and laudable record in this fixture was going to remain intact when Alvaro Morata gave them the lead, but it turned into a painful day for Antonio Conte’s men. Christian Eriksen’s stunning strike on the stroke of half-time changed the complexion of the game and built the foundations for an inspired Dele Alli to win it with two goals in the second half. Alli’s first was simply brilliant and his second confirmed the visitors’ first win here since February 1990 and made sure they moved eight points clear of their opponents.

Spurs had the majority of possession in the first half but struggled to find a way through Chelsea’s solid three-man defense with Heung-min Son isolated in a lone forward role as Harry Kane – miraculously back from his ankle injury – watched on from the bench.

Alvaro Morata, picked ahead of Giroud, headed Chelsea in front after Hugo Lloris failed to claim a routine cross, but Eriksen’s stunning long-range strike at the stroke of half-time drew Spurs level.

Alli then made his mark after the break with two goals in quick succession, first breaking the offside trap to finish Eric Dier’s long ball after 62 minutes before tapping home a scruffy move four minutes later to claim a truly historic win for Spurs.

The victory boosts Spurs’ hopes of beating Liverpool to a top-three finish, while the Blues must now close an eight-point gap on their London rivals if they are to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Purely based on historical records, we had gone for a home win as our 1st pick but knowing an upset could be on the cards, we had either to win as our 2nd pick and it proved to be the winning pick.

Caen v Montpellier

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 1-3

This will go down as our upset of the weekend as the visitors found their groove and ran riot on their way to a stumping victory that threw the record books out of the window. Montpellier have struggled on the road in the French Ligue 1 in the current season and had an abysmal record against Caen in previous encounters. However, Giovanni Sio proved to be the star of the show with 2 goals in the (21′, 53′) minute with Ellyes Skhiri scoring the games’ second in the 23′.

The home side did give their fans something to cheer about courtesy of a consolation goal by the in-form Ivan Santini in the 87′. The match was practically over after the 53’ with chances coming far and in between as the visitors maintained control and held on for a vital victory.

Based on previous head to head records as well as home and away forms regarding both teams, we opted for a X as our 1st pick and a home win as our 2nd but both proved incorrect.

Mainz vs Borussia M’gladbach

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 0-0

Despite the visitors being effective at creating goal-scoring opportunities through individual skill, the lack of a clear style of play set this one up to be a rather timid and forgettable match as Mainz held on for a crucial point in their quest for survival in the German Bundesliga.

The hosts, just like their opponents, were simply extremely poor at finishing and committed a high number of individual errors. There simply wasn’t much to right about in this particular one.

We based our 1st pick of an away win on the fact that the visitors have had a commendable season by their standards as they sit 9th on the table while the hosts were in the bottom 3 coming into this one. With the latter fact in mind, we went for a draw as our 2nd pick as there was a chance the hosts would hold out for a point that would prove vital in their race for survival and that turned out to be the case.

Eibar v Real Sociedad

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 2

Result: 0-0

Eibar and Real Sociedad were separated by just six points in La Liga which coming into this match and on paper, it looked like we were set for a fascinating match. The home side had bagged 39 points from 29 matches and still have a sniff of finishing in the top half of the Spanish top flight. Considering Eibar are a small club, this must be considered a good season for them and a point against Sociedad should be lauded.

Real Sociedad however, were not quite punching their weight and despite coming into this match with 33 points from 29 games, all they could master was a timid display that deserved nothing more than a point. they look very unlikely to be relegated – as they have a 12-point buffer from third bottom Las Palmas.

We based our 1st pick of a home win on the fact that Eibar have been known to punch well above their weight with a couple of upsets against bigger teams well within their reach. However, just to go with the form books, we went for an away win as our 2nd pick but both proved to be inaccurate.

That’s it regarding our Sportpesa Mega Jackpot post-match analysis this week and we are happy to say we are definitely getting better with a high of 10/17 correct predictions. Watch out for our sportpesa mega jackpot predictions this week later on in the week.

At multibet Kenya, we have something for everyone.

Sportpesa

INTRODUCTION

This is a short book about winning and I’m talking winning not just big but consistently as well.  This is not a book for the doubters for as a wise man by the name of Arsene Wenger once said, “if you do not believe you can do it, then you have no chance at all”. Sure, you’ve probably been through similar books, with writers who have christened themselves as sports betting pros who have gone on ahead to promise you everything from hundred percent winning betting tips, to fixed matches to some prime piece of real estate on the moon.

I’ll tell you right here and now that we won’t be taking you down that rabbit hole, firstly because we do not believe in the much-publicized sure bets and secondly albeit more importantly, because we have inside info regarding prime real estate on the moon, it’s not up for sale or even a lease yet.

Now that we’ve established that no one will be jetting off to the moon by the end of this book, lets delve right into what you should expect to pick by the end of this or at least what we hope you’ll pick up on. Our main goal is to help the millions of Sports betting enthusiasts by taking you on a trip down experience lane. You see, as with every event in life, there’s always a lesson to be learnt if one only choses to look as opposed to running off with tail tucked between ones’ leg like a dog that just ran into a dire wolf, yelling out for mama.

We have been members of this thrilling world of sports betting for almost half a decade now. In the spirit of total honesty, some of the lessons have come at the hands of some really bruising defeats. By bruising defeats, we are referring to losses so dire we almost signed up for exorcism as it seemed like some unseen, supernatural hand was hovering over us, hell bent on guaranteeing the losers circle was where we’d end up. Were it not for perseverance, a will to win coupled with the ever so sexy lady luck, we’d probably be scribbling this notes on some stain tainted mental asylum wall after breaking free of our straight jackets of course.

Which brings us to the most vital ingredient if you are looking to make wins out of losses and keep meek milling winnings consistently. Perseverance and patience are simply a must have and if you are lacking in either, we urge that you stop right here. Go out there, search under every rock and crevice, fetch some discipline while you’re at it, then come back. Hey, it’s not like we’re going anywhere, now is it?

Right, with that crucial bit out of the way, lets dive right in. don’t worry, well start off at the shallow end before throwing you head first into the deep end by the end of the book.

Have you ever heard about the 10-year-old, one armed boy who decided that judo would be his ideal sport?  A fable as old as time was told around a campfire during a teambuilding exercise deep in the heart of the lush Kenyan Savannah. Colleagues gathered together and sat around a beaming camp fire. Ambers were flaring up into the star filled sky, cinders flared off into small pieces that gave a firefly kind of look , crickets were stridulating in the distance with perfect harmony that one needs to actually experience to feel the magic of it all.

The team leader, a middle-aged sales executive was set to churn a story that he hoped would spur the creative genius of his team members. He stretched out his arms towards the towering flames as he began to speak. Every went hush as he started off on the story of the one-armed boy.

There once lived a 10-year-old boy who decided to study judo despite the fact that he had lost his left arm in a devastating car accident.

The boy began lessons with an old Japanese judo master. The boy was doing well, so he couldn’t understand why, after three months of training the master had taught him only one move.

“Sensei,” the boy finally said, “Shouldn’t I be learning more moves?”

“This is the only move you know, but this is the only move you’ll ever need to know,” the sensei replied.

Not quite understanding, but believing in his teacher, the boy kept training.

Several months later, the sensei took the boy to his first tournament. Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent became impatient and charged; the boy deftly used his one move to win the match. Still amazed by his success, the boy was now in the finals.

This time, his opponent was bigger, stronger, and more experienced. For a while, the boy appeared to be overmatched. Concerned that the boy might get hurt, the referee called a time-out. He was about to stop the match when the sensei intervened.

“No,” the sensei insisted, “Let him continue.”

Soon after the match resumed, his opponent made a critical mistake: he dropped his guard. Instantly, the boy used his move to pin him. The boy had won the match and the tournament. He was the champion.

On the way home, the boy and sensei reviewed every move in each and every match. Then the boy summoned the courage to ask what was really on his mind.

“Sensei, how did I win the tournament with only one move?”

“You won for two reasons,” the sensei answered. “First, you’ve almost mastered one of the most difficult throws in all of judo. And second, the only known defense for that move is for your opponent to grip your left arm.”

The boy’s biggest weakness had become his biggest strength.

Herein lies the lesson, the sales executive said under muttered breath, we all have weaknesses but if one is to triumph, learning to turn weakness into strength is key.

Catchy story, no? funny thing is, this simple lesson can be employed in all aspects of life which includes the thrilling world of sports betting and we can now dig deeper into just how we can turn habits such as: betting based on guts for glory, going for a string of bets so long it could rival the Nile, going all in on the so called sure bets amongst various other habits that have more often than not landed you firmly in the losers circle, or bagged you a big L as the cool kids would say it- into a winning strategy.

BEST BETTING SITES IN KENYA

In order to understand the game and how to make it work for you, we find it prudent that you actually get to know all the key players.

In this case, we are talking about the big boys when it comes to sports betting in Kenya. Let’s get this straight, sports betting firms may dish out winnings with reckless abandon but don’t, even for a second be fooled into classifying them as your friend. Your friend is the guy or girl you call when things are thick and you are staring at the barrel end of a gun, hypothetically speaking of course. It’s not like you look up Sportpesa in your directory when the waiter asks for his dues after your date/guzzler decides to run the bill into quadruple figures and all you have is a couple of thousands, that you were actually supposed to use to buy some power units, now is it?

Hence, for clarity purpose, the big players in the sports betting world should be viewed as the villains hereon. Hey, every good story needs one. Your relationship with your bookie is purely a business relationship. If you start winning too much, he will quickly ban you. That’s why it is always good to have multiple bookmakers.

STAKING PLAN /STRATEGY

A betting strategy can simply be defined as a systemic approach to placing bets designed to generate an edge for the bettor over the bookmaker or house.

In this chapter, we aim to illustrate how applying some age-old sports betting tactics and strategies can help you improve your winning percentage significantly and start making money investing in sports. These tips represent some of the most lucrative historical betting trends and are the same tools we use every single time we place our stakes on any given day.

Type in ‘sports betting tips’ on your google search bar and you will most probably end up pummeled by dozens of websites that promises to furnish you with sports betting strategies that will make you the king of the world. You’ve got: marketers, betting gurus, strategists, statisticians, mathematicians and a whole plethora of ‘experts’, each proclaiming to have come up with a winning formula that’s the next best thing since sliced bread. The question therefore should be, Are all these ‘experts’ worth the hustle? Yes, we may be writing this from an expert point of view but rest assured, we will not be selling the so called fixed bets or any bets for that matter in this book.

We have opted instead to try and share some of the tips we have picked up along the way. The thing is, once you come across a tried and tested approach, it more often than not ends up as applicable for various situations including the sports betting world. These strategies and tips, are solely aimed at aiding you in optimizing your winnings while maintaining the element of fun in the thrilling world of sports betting.

Information is key.

Knowing about something before anyone else is the key to successful betting. smart bettors collect as much information as possible, analyze the impact it could have on the market and then bet accordingly. Information could change the way you bet and the results you get.  Those who get a hold of accurate information and act on it promptly before anyone else reap lucrative rewards – as soon as it is common knowledge, the bookies will have already made adjustments to the odds.

Timely Information will not always provide you with a winning selection to bet on, but it will most certainly help you to consistently beat the closing line – The last available odds offered before a market closes. Bettors who “beat the closing line” have placed a bet offering a superior return to the final odds offered; consistently beating the closing line is a sign of a successful bettor– this means the smallest detail about how a team or individual might perform is vital if you one wants to get the odds with the best value.

There are numerous sources of information – from a digital feed to a contact with inside information, to players’ social media activity. These sources can provide insight into team news, how a player is feeling or even more irregular occurrences like a team not wanting to play due to a pay dispute. A good example can be seen when Messi tweeted a picture of him alongside hi newborn son which meant he wasn’t available to play for Barcelona and any individual who picked up on this information had an edge over the rest.

Every Tom, Dick and Jane can get his hands on some information about a specific sporting event but being the first in the know about something or being privy to information that no one else is aware of has its perks as it gives the bettor an advantage. Let’s get into a simple illustration as we all know as sports betting enthusiast, numbers are what makes us tick.

One recent example of how getting hold of information before anyone else can be beneficial was in the match pitting Real Madrid against Deportivo La Coruna earlier on in the season. In this case, announcements made pertaining to Madrid’s starting line up in the pre-match press conference a day before the game had a major impact on the odds.

While the majority of bettors would have learned of Zinedine Zidane’s – the Real Madrid manager- intention to rest Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema during the press conference, some would have known about it beforehand.

The shift in Betin Kenya’s odds shows just how important knowing about this kind of information could be.

Betin’s Total Goals market initially opened as Under 4 goals at 1.96. This price remained steady until a few hours before the previously mentioned press conference. After the news became common knowledge, Pinnacle’s Total Goals market moved to Under 3 goals at 2.05 before closing at 1.92 for Under 3.5 goals.

This clearly shows how two bettors could make two totally different bets on the same market – with one getting much better value for their bet because of the information they have and the timing of the bet. Timing in terms of access to information is everything.

Ensure that you have various news streams linked to your smart devices as most of them have the push notification function thus ensuring you get any relevant news just as it breaks. The emergence of social media platforms such as Twitter means majority of us have an easy access to more information than ever before. furthermore, we live in an age of soccer betting tips where everyone and anyone can easily claim to have valuable information.

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee in terms of the credibility of the information provided. It might be a typical greedy tipster trying to attract more interest to their website. This could explain the recent surge in ‘fake news’ across various social media platforms such as facebook and twitter.

It might prove to be a stroke of genius to react to a “leak” of information before anyone else does, but it could also backfire if that information turns out to be nothing more than fake news It is thus very important that one uses only reliable sources such as bbcsport or actual club websites such as www.arsenal.com to that can be trusted to only provide valid information.

Manage Your Principle Carefully.

This may sound rather straight forward, but experience has taught us that the devil called greed has a habit of creeping in and forcing sound minded individuals like ourselves to place stakes over and beyond what we can actually afford. A simple scroll down to the potential returns after placing a huge stake on somewhat researched matches is a temptation many find hard to resist. However, we urge you to look greed straight in the eye and yell ‘not today old friend!!!’

To void betting with money you can’t afford to lose, manage your bankroll like a pro. If you have a budget of Kshs 1000 for betting, make sure you keep each bet pegged at anything between 1 to 5% of your principle amount. This will help you avoid catastrophic losses that could lead to you losing your family or house as well as helping you avoid chasing losses that more often than not leads to even more debt. The next time greed creeps in just think of the potential losses from money to your stunning wife and just steer clear.

As an example, very aggressive bettors may bet 4% to 5% of their bankroll. More conservative investors may bet 1% to 2%. You need to find a number that you are comfortable with and that will allow you to grow your bankroll while also leaving room for you to learn and make mistakes.

Something else that we urge you to do when it comes to managing your money is guard against overconfidence. If you win a few bets in a row, don’t put it all on the next match or raise your bet amount too high. If you do either of these things it can lead to a situation where you lose all your gains in one bet or you go from being in a winning position to being in a hole you can’t get out of.

Look at the bigger picture.

We cannot emphasize this enough. Yes, the Jackpot is literally all about making it big in the shortest amount of time possible but is it really? If it were we’d be having winners each and every week, no? when it comes to betting, timing and pacing yourself is everything.

You need to have a clear view of the big picture. Start small and build yourself up a step at a time. Rome wasn’t built in a day. The temptation to go all in is often as enticing as Delilah, but we urge that you run away from her as fast as you can.

You will lose some, maybe even go on a string of losses. Take a step back and re-evaluate. You could even decide to take a break from the sports betting world for a while just to recharge and come up with a different strategy. Like we said earlier on, sports betting shouldn’t be a life or death scenario for you but rather a fun and engaging experience.

All we are trying to say is that in the exciting world of Sports Betting, you will have your good days as well as some bad ones but if you follow these time-tested tips, you will make profits more often than not.

Avoid betting emotionally, the heart needs to take a backseat when it comes to betting. We have all developed loyalty towards certain teams, there are Red Devils, Gooners, Blues, Reds, Madridstas and numerous others fans loyal to a fault when it comes to their respective teams. It is no secret that we always want the clubs we support to win every single match but if we are to be pragmatic, this will never happen. They will lose some and draw some as well. We all love our teams and want them to win as for some unsubstantiated theory, we are utterly convinced that due tour unconditional love for them, they will somehow end up winning even when faced with far superior opposition. Football matches aren’t won or lost based on love. The surest way to end up angry and depressed is to place a bet on your team despite the odds or opposition.

Once they lose, you will not only be broke, but depressed and heartbroken as well and I haven’t even started on the Whatsapp messages of mockery that you’ll be getting coz your team lost.

If you can master this art of rational betting, then your chances of ending up with a winning betslip are increased substantially.

The favorite team doesn’t always win.

This is a sort of unwritten rule like the ‘you don’t date your friends’ EX’ rule contained in the unwritten bro codes. The bookies may convince some to place their bets on the outright favorite due to the odds given but experience has taught us otherwise. How else can you explain Arsenal FC losing at home to Osterstunds FC a while ago?

Another good example is Leicester City and their fairy-tale season of 2015/2016. The odds of them winning the league were 5000 /1 !! They went on to actually win it and a lot of Sports Betting enthusiast made a lot of money off Leicester City FC by placing their bets on them especially during their home matches. The odds may have been stacked against them but the smart bettors placed their bets based on how they were playing and completely ignoring the favorites tag.

Understanding as much as you can about the teams that you’re betting on.

Look for news and developments that could easily sway the results of a match. Here are some areas that you should pay close attention to when deciding where to place your bet.

  • Team Form – During a season teams can go through “hot” and “cold,” periods. That is to say they can go on winning streaks or losing streaks. Pay close attention to “team form” – it’s very important for you to identify a team on a winning or losing streak early, before the bookies become aware of what is going on.
  • Team Formation – The formation a soccer team uses can have a dramatic impact on not just who wins or loses a match but how many goals are scored and more. Pay close attention to the formation a team is going to use.
  • Attacking and defending tendencies – this is another important area to study – does a team seek to advance the ball or does it like to sit back in a defensive shape? One team’s attacking tendencies can play into another side’s strengths or weaknesses and lead to a specific match result. So always study both teams’ tendencies and how those tendencies match up against each other.
  • Weather forecasts – you should always know what the weather conditions are going to be for a match. Weather can affect player performance, how many goals are scored and much more.
  • Standing/ranking tables – knowing where a team stands on the season can be an important indicator for how they will do in a match – just don’t put too much emphasis on standings as there are a lot of other factors that can influence match results. Standings are just another factor to consider. Also, be careful about putting too much emphasis on standings early in the season.
  • Time of year – the time of the year can also be an indicator to consider. Early and late season matches may be more unpredictable while mid-season matches may more easily fall into a more predictable pattern.
  • Special circumstances – always look to see if there are special circumstances that could impact a match. For example, is it a derby match e.g. Tottenham Hotspurs v Arsenal, do the teams have past history, does one of the teams have something to play for – like a playoff berth in the championship division.
  • Injuries – this is another important area to consider. Injuries can have a big impact on a team’s performance and because bookies set odds far in advance of a match they may not have taken new injuries into account. So always study team injury reports to gain a possible advantage.

BEST MARKETS: (OVER 1.5 UNDER 2.5 Over 2.5)(Straight wins

(Practical examples )

Betting Type 1– Over/Under Betting

This type of betting is gaining in popularity around the world. The most common form of this type of betting involves the final score of a match.

In this case, the bookmaker will offer odds for different scoring outcomes. For example, if you think the match will end with over 2.5 goals the bookmaker may offer 1.89 odds for that occurring. If you think the score will be under 2.5 goals, the odds may be 1.70.

Here is an example of what would occur if you are betting for the score to be over 2.5 goals:

  • 0 goals scored = LOSS
  • 1 goals scored = LOSS
  • 2 goals scored = LOSS
  • 3+ goals scored = WIN

Betting Type 2 – 3-Way Betting (1X2)

With 3-Way betting you bet on the outcome of a match. You can bet on a team to win, lose or draw in soccer.

If you bet on Team A to win and they do win the match, you win your bet. Likewise, if you bet on Team A to lose or draw and they do, you also win the match.

This is probably the most traditional form of betting and is very straightforward and easy to grasp.

Betting Type 3 – Both Teams to Score Yes/No

This bet is gaining in popularity around the world. Basically, this bet is exactly as it sounds – you either bet that both teams will score in a match or you bet that both teams will not score in the match.

This type of bet is generally considered to be a 50/50 bet meaning odds are pretty much equal for both outcomes.

Betting Type 4 – Multibet Betting

There are several types of multibets, in the most common type is made up of at least two matches and your match predictions must all be right for you to win the bet.

Let’s give an example of how it works. In this example you bet on three matches:

  • Real Madrid vs Valencia, Over 2.5 goals to be scored, Odds 2
  • Manchester United vs Liverpool, Under 2.5 goals to be scored, Odds 1.88
  • Chelsea vs Stoke City, Chelsea to win, odds 1.85

The total Odds for this accumulator would be 2 x 1.88 x 1.85 = 6.96

If your total bet was Kshs 100 and you won all three parts of the accumulator above, your returns would be 100 x 6.96 = 696 – so with a Kshs.100 initial bet your earnings would be Kshs 596.
