SPORTPESA MEGAJACKPOT, POST-MATCH ANALYSIS – THE BREAKDOWN-6

Welcome to yet another SPORTPESA MEGAJACKPOT, POST-MATCH ANALYSIS – THE BREAKDOWN-6. We managed to get 6/17 correct predictions which were poor by our standards. There were close calls and red cards that threw some of the games off not to mention a mind boggling total of 6 draws with 3 of them coming in the last 4 matches: but as always, we like to take on any loss as a challenge to do better. With that in mind, below is the breakdown of the results as well as an in depth look of our research methodology in the hopes that with each loss we all gain a lesson that could potentially set us on our way back to the Sportpesa Megajackpot Bonus once again in the coming week.

Preston vs Wigan

Our 1st Pick: 1

Result: 4-0

Callum Robinson scored twice as Preston impressively beat Wigan at Deepdale to move off the bottom of the Championship and end a 10-game winless run.

Tom Barkhuizen fired home the opener after neat build-up play in the first half. He then turned provider just after the break, creating space for Daniel Johnson to play in Robinson who slotted home.

Wigan’s task became huge moments later when former Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson was sent off for a bad tackle on Ben Pearson.

Victory was sealed with a few minutes left; Paul Gallagher scoring a penalty after Lukas Nmecha was fouled in the box, before Robinson turned in Sean Maguire’s pull-back to make it 4-0 deep into injury time.

Victory was not quite enough to lift North End out of the relegation zone, with Reading just above them on goal difference. Wigan drop to 10th following their fifth defeat in 12 league games this season.

We had gone for a home win based on current form and it proved an accurate prediction  as the hosts ran riot.

QPR vs Derby

Our 1st Pick: X

Result: 1-1

Geoff Cameron’s first goal for QPR earned the hosts a point and stopped Derby County moving into the Championship play-off places.

Cameron scored from 10 yards from a Nahki Wells cross after Rams keeper Scott Carson had saved Luke Freeman’s free-kick.The Rams led slightly against the run of play at the interval, Jack Marriott marking his first Championship start by drilling home after a defensive mix-up following Bradley Johnson’s long ball.

But Rangers responded impressively, Wells hitting the bar before Cameron’s leveller, just QPR’s ninth goal in 12 league matches this season, rescued a draw.Rangers were unfortunate to trail at the interval, having created the better chances.

Massimo Luongo and Jake Bidwell were both off target with decent opportunities before Marriott’s opener for the visitors.

A powerful Tom Lawrence free-kick then tested Rs keeper Joe Lumley, but the hosts continued to look the sharper.

The lively Wells had a header easily saved and then smashed a fine shot against the bar from the left side of the penalty area. After Cameron’s neat leveller early in the second half, both sides could have earned the win late on. But Toni Leistner, the matchwinner for QPR against Reading in midweek, blasted a shot over, while Rams substitute Harry Wilson forced Lumley into a smart save.

Derby, who have now lost just two of their past 15 away games at Loftus Road, are seventh while QPR slip to 18th in the table, five points above the relegation zone.

Peterborough vs Barnsley

Our 1st Pick: 2

Result: 0-4

Barnsley closed in on the automatic promotion places in League One with a 4-0 win at second-placed Peterborough. The Tykes had goalkeeper Adam Davies to thank for keeping out an early Ivan Toney penalty, with former Posh midfielder George Moncur scoring a minute later for the visitors before Brad Potts (twice) and Jacob Brown struck to move Barnsley within two points of their opponents.

Things might have been different when Posh were awarded a penalty in the 13th minute for contact on Joe Ward by Dimitri Cavare.

Toney’s spot kick was well saved low down to his left by Davies, and Posh were punished a minute later when they failed to clear and the ball came to Moncur to score from close range.

Potts then rifled in a 25-yard free-kick touched in his direction in first-half stoppage time, with the attacking midfielder finding the bottom corner from 20 yards after 59 minutes. Substitute Brown scored in the same corner in the 92nd minute to round off the win.

Wycombe vs Burton

Our 1st Pick: X

Result: 2-1

Adebayo Akinfenwa’s 200th goal in English football and a penalty from Joe Jacobson secured Wycombe a 2-1 win against Burton.

Two goals in seven minutes set the Chairboys on their way to victory, although Marvin Sordell’s goal shortly after half-time threatened a Burton comeback.

However, Wycombe held on for their first home League One victory of the season. After a quiet opening period, Craig Mackail-Smith was clumsily barged over in the box by Kyle McFadzean after 30 minutes and Jacobson stepped up to open the scoring on his 200th game for the Chairboys.

Randell Williams then escaped his man and his cross from the left was met by Akinfenwa, whose powerful header extended his side’s lead. However, early in the second half, Liam Boyce’s inch-perfect ball left Sordell one-on-one with Ryan Allsop and he rounded the goalkeeper with ease to reduce the deficit. Burton had further opportunities with Sordell spooning over from close range but Wycombe saw out the rest of the game.

Plymouth vs AFC Wimbledon

Our 1st Pick: 2

Result: 1-0

Plymouth’s 12-match wait for a League One win ended as they beat Wimbledon 1-0 at Home Park thanks to Freddie Ladapo’s 75th minute winner.

The Argyle target man headed home after Graham Carey latched on to Ruben Lameiras’ short corner to send over an inch-perfect cross from the right.

The win lifted Argyle off the foot of the table ahead of their trip to basement side Oxford next Saturday. Argyle had threatened five minutes earlier when central defender Ryan Edwards headed just over from Carey’s corner from the left. Carey nearly made it 2-0 with a thumping shot minutes after the goal but keeper Joe McDonnell saved well down low at his post.

Argyle’s on-loan Arsenal keeper Matt Macey made a save on the line to deny Jake Jervis from point blank range after 62 minutes. Former Argyle forward Jervis seemed certain to score when he side-footed skipper Deji Oshilaja’s cross towards goal at the far post but 6ft 7in Macey got down to turn the ball away to safety.

Joe Pigott sent a shot just wide of goal after good work from Jervis as the second half started with Wimbledon on the front foot but the visitors could not find a way back into the game.

Millwall vs Aston Villa

Our 1st Pick: 1

Result: 2-1

Caretaker manager Kevin MacDonald warned Aston Villa’s players they need to “tidy up” their performances after seeing them beaten by Millwall despite taking an early lead.

Tammy Abraham gave MacDonald the perfect start to his third spell as Villa’s temporary boss, cleverly steering home Conor Hourihane’s free-kick on the volley after just seven minutes. But the first match since Bruce was sacked then turned sour with Shane Ferguson and Tom Elliott earning victory for the Lions.

Millwall – winless in eight before Saturday – responded well to Abraham’s opener and deservedly levelled when Ferguson fired home Jake Cooper’s knockdown. Elliott’s second-half strike completed the turnaround to lift the Londoners out of the relegation zone and leave Villa with just one win in their past 10 Championship games.

With James Chester’s suspension and Mile Jedinak’s hamstring injury leaving makeshift pair Alan Hutton and Axel Tuanzebe at the centre of Villa’s defence, MacDonald opted for pragmatism further forward to protect his back four.

That meant Villa’s bench featured an array of attacking talent – worth more than £50m based on their most recent transfer fees. But the defensive approach failed to pay dividends as, despite Abraham’s early opener, Villa again failed to add to their solitary league clean sheet this season.

After Ferguson’s leveller, Villa were relieved to get to half-time at 1-1 as Millwall’s Shaun Williams had a goal-bound shot blocked by Manchester United loanee Tuanzebe and whistled another strike just over from 30 yards.

More poor defending just three minutes into the second half allowed Elliott to drill the hosts in front after Villa failed to clear Ferguson’s cross. And despite a brief Villa rally – in which James Bree nodded inches wide – Neil Harris’ Lions could have won by more as a Williams header crashed back off the bar.

The victory was only Millwall’s second Championship win of the season and lifted them to 20th, leaving whoever succeeds Bruce at Villa Park with much to ponder.

Crystal Palace vs Wolverhampton

Our 1st Pick: 2

Result: 0-1

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson described his side’s performance as a “major disappointment” after Matt Doherty’s winner extended Wolves’ unbeaten Premier League run to six matches.

Raul Jimenez put Doherty through on 56 minutes and, despite the tight angle, the full-back was able to beat Wayne Hennessey at his near post.

Although the home side began confidently in the first ever Premier League meeting between the clubs, Hodgson’s team were wasteful in the final third. Nuno Espirito Santo set a Premier League record by naming an unchanged starting XI for an eighth consecutive opening fixture, and Wolves arrived at Selhurst Park as the in-form side.

The visitors had to be patient to force a decisive breakthrough against Southampton last time out, and it was a similar story in south London, where the hosts began largely in control. But Nuno’s men have remained committed to their expansive style of play – and once again that paid off as the adventurous Doherty unlocked the Palace defence with a great finish.

It’s no coincidence that eight of Wolves’ nine league goals have come in the second half, and they demonstrated their ability to gradually wear down their opponents’ resistance.

While their attacking players will continue to receive plaudits, the Wolves defence – and Patricio in particular on this occasion – were excellent, allowing their side to keep a fourth clean sheet in five league matches. And although Cavaleiro probably should have doubled the advantage late on, victory means Wolves are now seventh on 15 points.

Grimsby Town vs Port Vale

Our 1st Pick: 2

Result: 2-0

Goals from Wes Thomas and JJ Hooper saw Grimsby pick up their first home league win of the season as they beat Port Vale. Just over 30 seconds into the game, Grimsby found themselves ahead as Mitchell Clark sold Scott Brown short with a back-pass, with Thomas latching onto it before rounding the goalkeeper and rolling the ball into the empty net.

Chances were few and far between for both sides for the rest of the first half, although Tom Pope went close for Vale as he flashed a volley just over the crossbar.

Grimsby should have doubled their lead just after the break when the ball broke to Hooper in a great position inside the penalty area, but the forward could only strike the ball against the post.

He made no mistake moments later though as Thomas and Charles Vernam linked up well on the edge of the box, with the latter playing the ball across the face of goal for Hooper to tap home and earn his side their second victory of the week.

Bury vs Mansfield

Our 1st Pick: X

Result: 2-2

Nicky Maynard’s stoppage-time goal earned Bury a point against Mansfield Town.Maynard slid home his second of the game from 15 yards five minutes into seven of added time at the end. Mansfield scored a bizarre opening goal after 10 minutes. Danny Rose profited as the ball slipped out of Joe Murphy’s grasp when the Bury keeper prepared to make a regulation clearance, and the ex-Bury striker tapped the loose ball into an unguarded net from five yards.

Murphy atoned for his clanger minutes later when he saved superbly from Otis Khan, while Rose should have made it two after half an hour but fired wide from 15 yards. After the restart, Khan went on a terrific run before curling an exquisite shot inches wide.

Bury then evened the score spectacularly in the 55th minute. Nicky Adams headed the ball hopefully towards Nicky Maynard eight yards from goal, and the Bury striker swivelled superbly before lashing home with a breathtaking scissor kick.

The Stags regained the lead after 73 minutes when defender Matt Preston powerfully headed home Timi Elsnik’s corner, but Maynard had the final say.

Macclesfield vs Notts County

Our 1st Pick: 1

Result: 0-1

A late Jon Stead penalty earned Notts County victory over Macclesfield. The hosts are still without a win this season, and had been good value for a point before centre-back Fiacre Kelleher gifted possession to Enzio Boldewijn, who bore down on goal, where keeper Kieran O’Hara committed a foul that virtually handed the visitors victory.

The spot-kick still had to be put away but in Stead, the Magpies had just the man for the job, and he sent O’Hara the wrong way eight minutes from time to give Notts their third straight win.

Macc had shaded a first half with precious few openings for either side. The stalemate continued after the break, with the home side producing decent build-up play without a final ball, and Notts County content to sit deep.

And with nine minutes left on the clock, Kelleher’s moment of madness led to the goal, after which substitute Nathan Thomas almost added a second for the visitors.

Swindon Town vs Northampton

Our 1st Pick: 1

Result: 1-1

Matt Taylor’s free-kick rescued a point for Swindon as they came from behind against Northampton at the County Ground. The home side should have broken the deadlock after just seven minutes when James Dunne had his close-range shot saved by David Cornell.

Swindon came close to taking the lead again as clever link-up play eventually saw Cornell deny Marc Richards with another save. Northampton had to wait until the 22nd minute before their first real opportunity fell to Sam Hoskins, who broke free before seeing his shot parried against the post.

The visitors came alive after the break and almost went ahead through Andy Williams, only for Swindon’s Taylor to deny him a chance from six yards out.

However, they didn’t have to wait long for their goal which came in the 58th minute when John-Joe O’Toole volleyed in from a Hoskins cross but Swindon responded in emphatic fashion, Taylor curling his free-kick into the top corner from 25 yards out.

Stevenage vs Colchester

Our 1st Pick: 1

Result: 3-1

Kurtis Guthrie scored against his old club as Stevenage recovered to beat Colchester in a feisty encounter at Broadhall Way.

Colchester went ahead after 86 seconds when Sammie Szmodics tapped in from three yards at the far post, from Ryan Jackson’s low cross.

Szmodics and Luke Norris had opportunities soon after, as Colchester pressed for a second.

But Guthrie went close with a deflected long-range effort before the former Colchester striker equalised four minutes before half-time when he tapped home at the far post, after Scott Cuthbert had headed on Joel Byrom’s corner.

Stevenage nearly scored again early in the second half when half-time substitute Emmanuel Sonupe’s acrobatic effort was saved well by Dillon Barnes.

Stevenage goalkeeper Seny Dieng denied Norris before Ben Kennedy slotted the hosts ahead from the spot with eight minutes remaining, after Steve Seddon had been fouled by substitute Brennan Dickenson in the area.

And two minutes later, Sonupe wrapped up Stevenage’s win when he calmly lifted a shot past Barnes, from Guthrie’s pass.

Morecambe vs Tranmere

Our 1st Pick: 2

Result: 3-4

A Harvey Gilmour double inspired Tranmere to victory against Morecambe in a superb and fiery encounter at the Globe Arena.

On-loan Sheffield United man Gilmour was Rovers’ hero as his sensational second in the 89th minute won it for the visitors. Morecambe took the lead with a superb individual goal from Rhys Oates after 13 minutes. The Morecambe forward made it three goals from three games with a superb, low 25-yard shot that flew past Scott Davies and into the bottom corner.

The visitors hit back just before the half-hour mark with a well-worked free-kick. Gilmour floated the ball into the Morecambe area and Ollie Banks used his height and strength to head past Barry Roche from six yards out.

The Shrimps were denied a penalty for handball before Micky Mellon’s side took the lead four minutes before the break. Zoumana Bakayogo was found on the overlap down the left and produced the perfect cross for Gilmour to beat Roche with a diving header from eight yards out.

Rovers added a third on 54 minutes when Jonny Smith struck a sweet left-foot curler past Roche from the edge of the Morecambe box.

The game continued to flow from end to end, with Davies saving smartly from Liam Mandeville before the Shrimps added a second when Vadaine Oliver headed home Zak Mills’ cross from close range after 73 minutes. The home side then levelled seven minutes later when Andrew Tutte’s cross into the area was flicked by AJ Leitch-Smith past Davies from 12 yards out.

The action didn’t stop there, however, as Gilmour curled home Bakayogo’s lay-off to earn the win. The game ended with a fracas involving both sets of players, with Tranmere goalkeeping coach Eric Nixon being shown a red card.

Yeovil vs Exeter

Our 1st Pick: 1

Result: 2-2

Jayden Stockley took his season’s goal tally to eight with a brace as Exeter claimed a draw at Yeovil. Exeter asserted their authority after just nine minutes when Stockley headed in the opener. Hiram Boateng hung up the cross and goalkeeper Nathan Baxter failed to come out allowing the striker to nod in.

Yeovil were level after 48 minutes and it came from another defensive mistake, this time when Luke Croll’s header back to Christy Pym was weak and Olufela Olomola pounced on it before rounding the goalkeeper and laying it to Jordan Green to tap in.

In the 61st minute it was 2-1 to the Glovers with Olomola the provider again, beating Croll for pace from a long ball forward before crossing in for Alex Fisher to score. Stockley then scored his second of the day after 75 minutes when he found space in the box to head in a Dean Moxey cross and level.

Guingamp vs Montpellier

Our 1st Pick: 2

Result: 1-1

Prior to this highly anticipated French Ligue 1 match, both teams had met 30 times and drew 12 times while Guingamp wins 6 times and Montpellier winning 12 times. The stats were in favor of the away side but we backed the home side to win as they needed the win badly in order to escape being early candidates for the drop.

They were fighting for their first season win of the Coupa de la Ligue match in their home match as they tried to push on proceeding to the next level. The visitors broke the deadlock in and around the 30th minute via an Andy Delort goal and went into the break in the lead. By this point the hosts were already down to 10 men as Marcus Thuram was given the matching orders as early as the 7th minute.

The situation swung back in favor of the hosts though as Florent Mollet was sent off thus making it a 10v10 match just before halftime.

This spurred the hosts and they duly got their reward via a Nicolas Benezet equalizer just at the stroke of the hour mark. Both teams had chances to pull ahead but given the general play, a draw seemed a fair result.

Liverpool vs Manchester City

Our 1st Pick: 1

Result: 0-0

We had backed the home side to carry the day based on historical records between this two sides but the rather dull affair proved to be an anticlimax.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City counterpart Pep Guardiola were both left satisfied after a goalless draw left their sides level on points at the top of the Premier League.

Champions City have not won a league game at Anfield in 15 years, and Riyad Mahrez wasted a glorious opportunity to send them clear when he missed a late penalty. City’s summer signing from Leicester fired an 85th-minute spot-kick high over the bar after substitute Leroy Sane was brought down by Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.

It handed the Reds a reprieve as both sides extended their unbeaten league starts to eight games, with City now top on goal difference from Chelsea and Liverpool. All three are level on 20 points. City felt they were denied two earlier penalties when Dejan Lovren bundled over Sergio Aguero and Van Dijk handled in an aerial challenge – referee Martin Atkinson waving away the first appeal and awarding a foul for a push by Fernandinho in the second incident.

Mahrez also squandered City’s other big chance in a game that failed to live up to expectations, dragging an effort wide, while keeper Ederson was virtually unemployed against Liverpool’s normally potent attack.

This Anfield confrontation was billed as a potential thrill ride between two sides who – along with Chelsea – have set the pace in the Premier League. It was not to be – this was a cagey and, at times, dull and tame affair.

Liverpool’s attacking trident of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were unable to cause the damage they inflicted on City in last season’s Champions League quarter-final, while Guardiola’s intention was clearly to draw the early fire from Klopp’s side.

City had no intention of being drawn into the sort of Anfield battles that saw them over-run last season and led to suggestions that Klopp’s intense, pressing style was one that Guardiola could not master.

Liverpool ran out of steam and ideas after the first 10 minutes, while City were content to slow matters down to throw cold water over the Anfield atmosphere – and in that respect it was highly effective as the home side, so irresistible in attack last season, barely troubled Ederson.

Klopp’s side have now gone four games without a win after a flawless start to the season and the influence James Milner has on Liverpool was illustrated by their lack of direction after he went off injured in the first half. City was the better side, but neither was able to produce the decisive moment and spoils were thus shared by the end of regulation time. press association

IK Start vs Sarpsborg

Our 1st Pick: 2

Result: 1-0

IK Start came into this one having played 24 matches and at position 15 with 23 points in the 2018 Norway Eliteserein.  Their opponents on the other hand having played 24 matches were at position 9 with 32 points. In their last 5 h2h Sarpsborg had won 4 times Start 1 with 1 draw for both sides. This explains why we backed the away team to carry the day.

However, a last minute goal by Mathias Bringaker was enough to ensure a memorable victory for the hosts and in the process secured them 3 vital points. The home crowd was in fine volume as they spurred their team on to victory. It was a rather lacklustre match with chances coming far and in between.

Gillingham v Wimbledon

Our 1st Pick: 1

Result: 0-1

Joe Pigott’s fifth goal of the season was enough to earn AFC Wimbledon a 1-0 win over Gillingham, their first league victory since the opening game of the campaign.

It brought Wimbledon the three points they had deserved on the balance of play and was the only significant chance in a game that lacked quality or excitement.

James Hanson struck the bar from range in the first half, but neither keeper made a single save of note until Tom King turned away a 95th-minute free-kick from Luke O’Neill – the only time the home side had threatened to score.

SPORTPESA MEGAJACKPOT POST MATCH ANALYSIS – THE BREAKDOWN

We are back at it again with our Sportpesa Mega Jackpot post-match analysis. Brace yourselves as last week’s sportpesa mega jackpot games had it all, from title winning matches to stunning comebacks. This is a special one for us as well as we finally landed a bonus pay out with 12/17 correct predictions in our 2nd picks. With this in mind, lets dive right into it, shall we?

Dunajska Streda v Slovan Bratislava

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 2

Result: 0-1

This was a rather uneventful match in the Slovak Supa Liga. The two teams are neck to neck in terms of table standings and it really showed as both teams started off in a cagey type of manner.

The goal chances were spread thin but the visitors finally broke the deadlock in additional time of the 1st half when Vasil Bozhikov found the back of the net after some neat build up and assist courtesy of David Holman.

The second half was hotly contested but the game ended 1 nil in favor of the visitors leaving the home crowd with a bitter taste in their mouth.

We had gone for an away win as both our 1st and 2nd pick based on head to head records and it proved true.

FC Zlin v Sigma Olomouc

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 2

Result: 1-4

They don’t come bigger than this in the Czech first league as these two rivals were pitted against each other in what turned out to be a rather one sided affair in favor of Sigma.

The visitors broke the deadlock almost immediately after kick off when Jakub found the back of the net in the 8th minute. The goal allowed the slick playing visitors to settle early on into the game. The engineered wave after wave of attack and it finally paid off in and around the 42 when Baco found the back of his own net making it 2 nil to the visitors.

The game was well and truly done by this point and two more goals from Jakub and David in the 2nd half ensured that the visitors went home with maximum points. The hosts did have something to write home about as Lukas pulled one goal back but it just wasn’t enough to turn the game around.

We had gone for an away win as both our 1st and 2nd pick based on head to head records and it proved true.

Benevento v Genoa

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 1-0

Benevento surprised the Italian League when they ran out victorious against an in-form Genoa side in their penultimate game of the season.

It was a really cagey match which had the ‘end of season’ feel about it as players looked a bit disinterested in the whole affair. Chances did come but they were too far and in between to warrant mentions.

It looked certain to be heading for a stalemate right until the dying minutes when Cheick Diabate broke the deadlock with just 2 minutes to go. The goal sent the home crowd into a frenzy as they bagged the bragging rights.

We had gone for an away win as our 1st pick based on current form and a draw as our 2nd based on head to head records but none proved accurate.

Middlesbrough v Aston Villa

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 0-1

Mile Jedinak’s header gave Aston Villa a one-goal lead going into the home leg of their Championship play-off semi-final against Middlesbrough. Jedinak headed home Jack Grealish’s corner for the only goal, while Villa’s Robert Snodgrass struck the upright.

Boro’s best chance was a Britt Assombalonga header saved by Sam Johnstone in the first half. However, chances were at a premium and that left Villa with a precious lead to take into Tuesday’s second leg.

Villa boss Steve Bruce restored vital components of his side, such as skipper John Terry and dynamic playmaker Grealish, which gave the visitors composure and craft in equal measure.

Boro had enjoyed a hot streak in their run to the play-offs but Villa did well to quieten the threat of ex-Villa man Adama Traore and as such they largely lacked the cutting edge to break their opponents down.

Patrick Bamford’s introduction late on gave the hosts a sharper focus up front, but even he was unable to supply the firepower to cancel out the Villa lead. There was a raucous atmosphere in the rapidly-cooling temperatures at the Riverside, but Villa’s bright start and early goal punctured the optimism.

It was Villa who controlled the game, much to the visible frustration of Boro boss Tony Pulis, and Snodgrass went close to doubling Villa’s lead after concerted pressure, curling the ball toward the far corner but Darren Randolph tipped it onto the post.

Boro came out of their shells as the second half progressed but, even when they got in behind the defence, Johnstone remained largely untroubled. Pulis’ side launched their expected rally as time ticked by, buoyed by Bamford’s entrance, but Villa defended resolutely to protect their winning position.

As a play off match, the match can swing either way but we gave Villa a win as our 1st and 2nd pick based on previous head to head records despite Boro’s current form and this proved to be an accurate prediction.

Girona v Valencia

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 2

Result: 0-1

A Luciano Vietto 61st minute goal was the only noteworthy moment in what was a labored performance by both teams.

Girona have had an exceptional season by any standards but stunning Valencia proved to be a step too far for them. The visitors had just secured champions league football for the first time in almost a decade and this could explain the party atmosphere during the match.

We had gone for an away win as both our 1st and 2nd pick based on head to head records and it proved accurate.

 http://www.fullmatchesandshows.com/2018/05/12/girona-vs-valencia-highlights/

Real Betis v Sevilla FC

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 2-2

This has to go down as arguably the match of the weekend as it had it all, from goals to crunchy tackles to glaring missed chances. The Spanish league may have been drawing to a close but these two definitely never got the memo as they went for the jugular right from kick off.

Marc Bartra broke the deadlock as early as the 5th minute sending the home crowd into ecstasy. The hosts pressed on for the elusive second but it just didn’t come as they headed into the break with a one nil lead.

Manchester United’s chief scourge in their champions league campaign, Wissam Ben Yedder drew the visitors level in the 57th minute with a peach of a goal. Simon Kjaer then pulled the visitors ahead in and around the 79th minute in what seemed like a great comeback. However, the Betis refused to go quietly into the night as Lorenzo Moron pulled the level just two minutes later to ensure that the teams shared the spoils which was fair given the general run of play.

We had gone for a home win as our first pick and a double chance as our 2nd based on head to head records between these two but the late equalizer made both predictions inaccurate.

Alaves v Athletic Bilbao

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 1X

Result: 3-1

Bilbao’s profligacy in front of goal was duly punished as they were hammered by Alaves despite their superior shots and attempts on goal.

Alaves were as clinical as surgeons as they found the back of the net in all their 3 shots on target. Bilbao had almost 13 attempts but only one found the back of the net leaving them to rue their missed opportunities.

Goals from John Guidetti (43’) Munir El Haddadi (60’) Ibai Gómez (77′) helped the hosts race into a 3-goal lead.  Iker Muniain pulled one back for the visitors in the 79th but it was nothing more than a consolation goal.

We had gone for a home win as our 1st pick and a double chance of a home win or draw as our 2nd pick based on head to head records and both proved true

Angers v Nantes

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 0-2

This was as one side an encounter as they come with Nantes proving to have just too much under the hood for the hosts to handle. Notably though, Angers’ players seemed to have been on holiday mode as they just never got off the tracks.

Lucas Lima opened the scoring from a free kick with a left footed shot to the top right corner. Star player, Kalifa Coulibaly then sealed all points late on with a right footed shot from outside the box to the bottom left corner after some lovely build up play by Nicolas Pallois.

Based on head to head records, we had gone for a draw as our 1st pick with a double chance as our second which proved true.

Bologna v Chievo

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 2

Result: 1-2

Chievo picked up maximum points on the road in this feisty encounter on the penultimate day of the Italian League.

The hosts started off well and were awarded a penalty in the 12 minute which was converted by Verdi. This seemed to galvanize the opponents as they rallied for an equalizer. Their efforts were duly rewarded when Giaccherini found the back of the net in the 48th minute. Inglese put the visitors ahead 12 minutes later to mark a remarkable comeback victory as they held on for the win.

We had a draw as our 1st pick based on home ground advantage with an away win as our 2nd pick based on head to head records and this proved to be the winning prediction.

Torino v Spal

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 12

Result: 2-1

This was yet another comeback type of match with Torino having to dig deep to ensure that their home fans went home with something to cheer about.

Grassi had pulled the visitors ahead mid-way through the 1st half leaving the home crowd in a state of shock as they expected an easy win. Spall fought on valiantly to hold to their slender lead with some last-ditch tackles.

However, the home sides’ relentless pressure finally paid off as Belotti pulled them level in the 68th minute leaving room for Silvestri to bury home the winner in dramatic fashion with just 3 or so minutes to go.

We had gone for a double chance as our 2nd pick based on current form and head to head records and this proved to be accurate.

Heidenheim v Greuther Furth

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 1-1

On paper, this intriguing encounter promised much but then again, matches aren’t won on paper, now are they?

The visitors drew first blood when Green found the back of the net in and around the 51 minute and it looked certain to end in favor of the visitors only for Skarke to pull the hosts level right at the end of the match to ensure that spoils were shared.

We had gone for a home win based on head to head records but none proved accurate.

Duisburg v St. Pauli

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 2-0

In what was a one-sided encounter, Duisburg ran out victorious with a comfortable win infront of their loyal home support.

Moritz Stoppelkamp (MSV Duisburg) headed home from very close range to the bottom right corner following a corner to pull the hosts ahead and Christian Gartner sealed the win emphatically with a right footed shot from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal.

Duisburg have been imperious at home thus our home win 2nd pick proved accurate.

West Ham v Everton

Our 1st Pick: 2

Our 2nd Pick: 1

Result: 3-1

West Ham moved up two places in the Premier League table to finish 13th after a Manuel Lanzini-inspired win over Everton in what could be the final game in charge for both managers.

Striker Marko Arnautovic’s thumping second-half goal added to playmaker Lanzini’s opener before the break and David Moyes’ men ended a turbulent campaign on a high when the Argentine curled a third past Jordan Pickford near the end.

Everton, who pulled one back through Oumar Niasse, finished eighth after 9th placed Leicesters’ defeat but some supporters chanted for manager Sam Allardyce to be sacked, as out-of-contract Moyes will also reflect on his next step.

West Ham goalkeeper Adrian made late saves to deny Niasse and Everton substitute Theo Walcott.

We had a home pick as our 2nd pick based on the current form of the hammers’ forward line and this proved to be a winning prediction.

Bohemians 1905 v Mlada Boleslav

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 1X

Result: 1-3

In what was a thrilling encounter, Tiemoko Konaté made it (1-0) in the 27th minute for the visitors. Antonin Vanicek then made it (1-1) for the hosts with a timely equalizer.

The Visitors left it late as Matej Chalus made it (2-1) in the 85th minute before Lukas Magera sealed the win with a 3rd goal in the 87th minute.

We had gone for a home win and home win or draw as our 1st and 2nd picks respectively based on head to head records. However, the late flurry of goals nullified our predictions.

Aves v GD Chaves

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 2

Result: 2-3

This was yet another potential pick for match of the week as both teams fought tooth and nail in search of maximum points.

The hosts kicked off on the front foot and were duly rewarded when Jorge Fellipe found the back of the net in just under 5 minutes. This prompted Chaves to respond and they went forward in search of an equalizer. Their constant pressure was rewarded in form of a penalty that was converted by Pedro Tiba in the 21st minute.

The home side responded immediately as Mama Balde put them ahead a minute later to send the home crowd into a frenzy. The visitors still had something up their sleeve as they scored two goals in a space of 4minutes right at the end of the match to win it.

We had gone for an away win as our 2nd pick based on head to head records and current form and it proved an accurate prediction.

Atalanta v AC Milan

Our 1st Pick: 1

Our 2nd Pick: 1X

Result: 1-1

A late Gianluigi Donnarumma howler allowed Atalanta to secure a last-gasp point against AC Milan in a 1-1 draw on Sunday, but the stalemate still seals Europa League football for both clubs.

Milan looked destined to take all three points from Bergamo thanks to Franck Kessie’s second-half goal against his former team in a match that saw two red cards, but Andrea Masiello headed in at the death in an incident which is likely to bring further scorn on Donnarumma after a poor showing in the Coppa Italia final against Juventus.

The away side showed nothing to suggest a win was their primary aim in the first period, offering very little going forward – Atalanta just about looking more threatening.

But Milan made the most of Atalanta’s profligacy as Kessie produced an emphatic finish from the edge of the box at his old stomping ground with half an hour to play, just before Rafael Toloi was dismissed for sarcastically applauding the referee.

Riccardo Montolivo then followed him down the tunnel for a poor tackle and, while Milan looked set to hold on, Masiello nodded in in the second minute of stoppage time, with Donnarumma making a mess of what should have been a routine save.

The result means both sides will be in the Europa League next season, but as it stands sixth-placed Milan will go straight into the group stage.

Based on current form, we had gone for an away win or draw as our 2nd pick and it proved accurate.

IFK Mariehamn v Ilves Tampere

Our 1st Pick: X

Our 2nd Pick: X

Result: 2-0

Two goals late on in each half proved to be the difference in what was a rather lacklustre match.

1 – 0 Aleksei Kangaskolkka made it 1-0 late on in the 1st half and Simon Silverholt made it 2 – 0 in the 83rd minute to ensure maximum points for the visitors and condemn the home fans to a chastening defeat.

We had gone for a draw as both our picks based on head to head records but none proved accurate.

That’s it regarding our Sportpesa Mega Jackpot post-match analysis this week and we are happy to say we landed a bonus pay out with a high of 12/17 correct predictions!!! Watch out for our sportpesa mega jackpot predictions this week.

At multibet Kenya, we have something for everyone.

Sportpesa Jackpot

We provide the best analysis of the sportpesa jackpot through extensive analysis of various variables that determine the probable outcome of the sportpesa jackpot games and enhance your winning probabilities.

When one says sportpesa jackpot we all immediately think of the endless possibilities in enhancing our existence on this earth if we were to win the one hundred plus million kenya shillings.

Sportspesa has fired up the hopes and dreams of Kenyans by providing an equal playing platform for anyone irrespective of who is your father, your gender, economic status, employment status, political affiliations and so on to play the odds and stand a chance to make more money than five previous generations of your keen.

Sportpesa jackpot is an offering by sportpesa which is the mammoth sports betting company in Kenya that entails correctly predicting a certain set of predetermined football matches in an effort to win millions of shillings while only investing Kenya shillings one hundred. It sounds like a ponzi skim if it were not for the evidence of the power of the jackpots with the likes of Abisai and Ogada who can now afford to buy a small island of the coast of mombasa.

The science of it is very interesting, you are given thirteen to seventeen foreign matches (if they were KPL matches tungeshuku) and are tasked to predict out of the three possible outcomes (a limited number of double chances are allowed at an additional cost) of win, draw, loss which will be correct and are then offered millions of shillings for your “hard work” and you are only required to show good faith with an meager investment of Kenya shillings one hundred. Can it get any better than that am sure even Hollywood would not be as creative in the creation of their blockbusters.

But is it really that simple, the answer is “no” evident with the fact that it has only been won thrice since its inception. The interesting bit which is greatly overlooked by the majority of bet placers who invest thousands of shillings in the pursuit of money-fueled happiness is that there have been multiples of hundreds more winners of the sportpesa jackpot bonuses than there are winners of the whole lot.

Wouldn’t common sense then dictate that the right boar to hunt and squire are the bonuses which as the common phrase state are the lower hanging fruits?

Ask yourself what would you do with two million Kenya shillings or six hundred thousand which were the jackpot and mega jackpot highest paid bonuses the week of February 19 2018 respectively.I certainly would be glad to have some extra change to straighten out my financial obligations. Playing the sportpesa jackpot smart is hedging your chances to increase your probability of cracking the bonus stratosphere and by some good luck you may just hit the mother load and make your neighbors envious by being picked from your house like a “bowssssss!!!!”

Get in the game is the famous slogan for the Sportpesa platform and it rightly embodies the attitude required if you are to successfully chase some wins while playing Sportpesa jackpots.”Get in the game” and work smart with a methodology geared towards optimizing your chances of winning some coins.

Multi bet Kenya offers value services that are backed my professional and strategic research geared towards increasing the ratio variant in favor of you.

How do we go about this?

Firstly we address the challenge as a statistical problem that we need to solve for the prediction of football matches is very possible with the use of performance based statistics of each team and the players constituting the team.

Team Form:

There are multiple variables that contribute to a team’s form meaning its ability or inability to win matches, score goals, defend against conceding to many goals e.t.c

Players that have played longest together inevitably cultivate great chemistry and in turn great form.Look at Leicester’s meteoric rise and its consistent fighting spirit.A huge part of this can be attributed to the fact that as they joined the EPL majority of the players had played together since the 2013-2014 lower leagues season and it was almost instinctual how they decimated the other so-called EPL Goliaths.

As evident on the below stats from wikipedia about Leicester’s magnificent season team chemistry and in turn team form is the secret juice to significant triumphs

Recent form:

Each season a team will either improve their form or deteriorate in performance and this plays a big contributor to their winning or loosing streaks. There are teams who can not shake of a loosing streak and there are those like the formidable Manchester united,Porto and Bayer Munich who cannot help themselves while there are those like west bromwich Albion who despite their best attempts seem not to be able to share off loss after loss.

Rivalry:

Call it myth superstition or whatever you want but there are some teams that despite their prowess they are always doomed to failure when playing that un defeatable rival. Look at Reims and Tours, despite the fact that Reims is considered a top-tier french ligue 2 team and Tours a bottom-tier french ligue 2 team they always have an extremely hard time in winning a match against tours. This is evident with the table below

Injury reports:

An injury of anchor players such as messi, pogba, ozil and others usually throws the team in a bit of disarray and usually almost always impacts their capability to attack or defend.

Injury reports may provide some insight on how the teams will play during their next encounters and enable one to predict the possible outcomes. This information can be accessed on such sites

Head to head analysis

A comparative report indicating the previous encounters between teams provides insights on the possible outcomes of matches. The analysis has to be done for matches played over a number for recent form maybe misleading.

As an example lets take Juventus vs Atlanta, over the last four years Atlanta has never defeated Juventus and this indicates that it is almost inevitable that all encounters will be won by Juventus especially those where they are playing at home.

What the teams may gain or loose in the match?

This has been best demonstrated during the 2017-2018 English premier league season where the teams in the lower positions of the table have been out performing the top placed teams as they try to escape the relegation zone. This information can be accesses from such sites.

You can as well get this information from authoritative sources such as sports broadcasters

There are many more variables that as multibet kenya we consider to ensure that we provide bankable predictions on the sportpesa mega jackpot.

What can winning the sportpesa mega jackpot do for you?

Hypothetically if the mega jackpot purse was reset to kenyan shillings a hundred million and you happened to correctly guess the outcomes of the seventeen games and won. What would that mean for you?

Financial security.

No more paying rent,no more hustles in catching a matatu because you would be in a position to drive a modest car of your choice,no more worries about KPLC,NWSC,GOTV,ZUKU bills and most importantly no more putting in twelve hours a day to earn peanuts.

With KSh 100,000,000 (look at that beautiful almost enchanting figure) you would be in a position to never ever work in your life and if by the mercies from above you happen to win that OGADA money,am talking about ksh 231,000,000 (i can almost cry looking at that figure) you definitely do not need to work ever again.

With that kind of money you only need to buy the best financial advise in the market on how to take advantage of financial instruments such as treasury bills and bonds to generate substantial interests.

If you were to invest only ksh 50,000,000 from your pool of cash on treasury instruments you would be looking at in excess of ksh 4,000,000 in yearly interests that is ksh 330,000 per month to live on while still maintain your principle amount…..why work again ever….

Just look at how easy leading investment entities such as Cyntonn Investments and ICEA Lion make it look to convert your already a lot of monies into tycon level monies.

Betting has its related risks and it is always advisable to never risk or stake money that you cannot afford to lose and so we urge all our fellow prediction enthusiasts to always bet smart but not to gamble.

Allow us to take you on a trip down memory lane involving a certain Paul Wainaina, one of the first Sportpesa Jackpot winners in Kenya. You see, when every other football fan was enjoying every single moment of what is arguably the worlds most anticipated club football match – the El Clasico, that pits two European juggernauts namely FC Barcelona & Real Madrid against each other, there was one fan in Huruma who was literally down on his knees praying with such gusto his wife thought he had gone mental.

On that night, Paul who had never been to church except for the usual Easter and Christmas masses, where lack of attendance could be construed as an act of defiance to God himself was praying as a man possessed. Sweat was dripping from each and every orifice in his body. He wanted God to come through in a big way as this was his 4th attempt at the Sportpesa Jackpot.

He had already seen his first 10 picks go through and the 3 that remained were driving him up the wall with the pressure reaching boiling point. As he told Fever pitch magazine

“The pressure became too much to bear, with only two matches left by Monday 1 am. I tried praying, but I was weak. I woke my wife up to help me pray. I don’t know even what I was telling God. But I remember telling Him to let me win. I even confessed all my sins so that I could win a clean man,” said the 31-year-old father of two.” I was checking the progress of the matches with every single second.”

The moment of truth came and Wainaina could not hide his joy when it dawned on him that he had just pocketed Kshs 8,900,000.

“Nimeshinda. Akia Mungu nimeshinda hii kitu! (I have won! I swear I have won it),”

Were the only words he could muster at the time. His frantic celebrations were causing a stir deep in Huruma but he could care less, he had just won the Sportpesa Jackpot!

“I disappeared into the darkness to look for more airtime. Luckily, I got one for Sh50, which I loaded and immediately called Sportpesa guys. I did not wait to be called. It is me who made the first call because I really needed the money,” said Paul Wainaina in a later interview.

When quizzed on what he planned to do with the huge windfall of cash that had just landed on him, he surprisingly said he had no plans but that he would consult with his better half.

Paul Wainana and Family
